The position

The Pricing & Controlling Manager will hold dual responsibilities in two critical areas for the Novo Nordisk UAE organization:

 

In pricing: The role combines strategy and execution by being responsible for managing the establishment, execution, and monitoring of the pricing strategy for the entire company's portfolio. You will work closely with different functions in the affiliate and the regional teams to develop optimum pricing strategies that will ensure access of Novo Nordisk innovation to patients while reflecting the brands' value.

 

In finance: The role oversees business finance processes with a focus on the controlling part, leveraging on the pricing knowledge and responsibilities to participate in strengthening the internal control system that is in place, and contribute to building a balanced planning system (budgeting, sales target setting, rolling forecasts) and combines a finance partnering responsibility.

 

Main accountabilities will include:
In pricing:

·     Strategic pricing leadership: You will work internally with different functions to drive pricing strategy at level of list and net prices for Novo Nordisk’s portfolio to maximize patients access across brands life cycle. You will also support innovative pricing & contracting initiatives, develop and utilize models to conduct quantitative analysis of price impacts, and provide strong insights and clear recommendations on pricing assumptions across Novo Nordisk’s portfolio for key business planning cycles

·     Pricing governance and compliance: You will drive the local pricing committee as a platform for reviewing and aligning on list & net pricing strategies with sound knowledge and implementation of healthcare compliance rules, while ensuring proper documentation and updates of the internal pricing systems and databases

·     Partnership working: You will support the head of department in pricing negotiations with Health Authorities, provide insights to support Market Access teams' negotiations with reimbursement bodies, and connect with key internal and external stakeholders in the pricing communities

 


In finance:

·     Internal control framework: You will be responsible for rolling out the internal control framework in relation to pricing and revenue, analyzing business processes, identifying process improvements and developing cost-saving controls to improve efficiency in the use of resources

·     Planning processes: You will participate in the planning processes, in close collaboration with the FP&A team and line of business, collecting insights and challenging inputs to land at an ambitious, yet achievable targets

·     Gross-to-net controlling: You will be in charge of monitoring the commercial discounts’ efficiency (rebates, FoC, etc.), analyzing trends and proposing corrective measures and insights for negotiations. You will also be responsible for the roll-out and controlling of the gross-to-net models with the local partners (importers, distributors, etc.)

 

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, we are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:

·       Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in management, economics, finance, or a related field, with a minimum of 5  years of experience in finance, pricing, market access, or commercial effectiveness within pharmaceutical, medical devices, FMCG, or consultancy sectors.

·       A solid understanding of the UAE healthcare ecosystem and regulatory landscape is preferred.

·       Strong quantitative and analytical abilities with advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

·       Proven project management experience with the ability to handle complex issues, meet tight deadlines, and maintain strong attention to detail.

About the Department

The position will have a dotted line to the Finance and Operations head (F&O). The F&O team is a group of talented professionals (5 members), overseeing Accounting, Tax, FP&A, Supply chain and Procurement and is a trusted business partner group to the Affiliate LoB, supporting creating value and achieving the Affiliate strategic goals.
