Your new role
As a Senior Project Manager – Manufacturing Specialist based in Algeria, you will play a pivotal role in our CMO localisation project. You will act as a technical and/or project lead – contributing to facility readiness, technology transfer, manufacturing readiness, and the ramp-up of operations in close collaboration with our external manufacturing partner.
 
Depending on your profile and the project's evolving needs, you may take on responsibilities as a Project Manager / Work Package Owner, Drug Product Facility Readiness expert, Technology Transfer or Validation specialist, Aseptic Manufacturing or Filling/Formulation SME, or Quality Control specialist.


Day-to-day, your responsibilities will typically include:
  • Project leadership & coordination: Driving activities within your scope (work package, technical area or project stream) and managing timelines, milestones, risks and stakeholder alignment
  • Technology transfer & manufacturing readiness: Supporting or leading the transfer of drug product processes to the CMO and ensuring readiness for validation, PPQ/PV and commercial production
  • Quality & compliance oversight: Safeguarding compliance with cGMP, Novo Nordisk quality standards and regulatory requirements, and supporting documentation, inspection readiness and robust quality processes
  • CMO & cross-functional collaboration: Acting as a key interface between Novo Nordisk and the external partner, while providing guidance and capability building to local teams
  • Project execution & ramp-up: Supporting the transition from project phase to stable operations and contributing to the long-term localisation and manufacturing capability strategy
The role is based on-site in Algeria and requires regular interaction with global Novo Nordisk teams to support project execution.

Within Global Manufacturing & Supply sits Global Contract Manufacturing Drug Products (GCM DP) – a team of approximately 250 colleagues responsible for the full lifecycle of externally manufactured drug products, from technology transfer and project execution to commercial production, assembly and packaging. Working in close partnership with more than 10 CMOs worldwide, we support a diverse portfolio across diabetes, obesity, haemophilia and growth disorder treatments – playing a critical role in delivering innovative therapies faster and more efficiently to patients around the world.
 
Your skills & qualifications
We are looking for a senior professional who thrives in complex, international project environments and who is motivated by the opportunity to build something new on the ground in Algeria. You will bring with you:
  • An advanced degree in Pharmacy, Engineering, Biotechnology, Chemistry or a similar field
  • 10+ years' experience in drug product manufacturing – preferably aseptic – ideally gained in an international, multicultural environment
  • Proven track record in project management within complex international programmes, ideally combined with expertise in aseptic manufacturing / fill-finish, QC / analytical methods / validation, or technology transfer and GMP compliance
  • Experience working with CMOs is a clear advantage, alongside strong stakeholder management and collaboration capabilities
  • Professional fluency in English is required; French and/or Arabic is a strong advantage given the location
