In NC, we operate three pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities that are responsible for fulfilling different steps in our injectable and oral treatment supply chains.  Our Product Supply Aseptic Manufacturing (PS AM) facility in Clayton, NC is a 457,000 square foot aseptic "fill and finish" site that is responsible for producing innovative, injectable diabetes and obesity treatments. The Position

Ensure the safe & effective operation of a work cell while maintaining a high level of focus on Quality. This person has the following key roles; Ensure the process performs per plan, Process Confirmations, Leads in SPS, and Support and participate in plant Shutdown.

Manager, Facilities.

 

Essential Functions

  • Executes the department plan by leading the operation, monitoring & controlling of equipment, systems, & processes within the work cell
  • Enforces all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties
  • Addresses any safety, quality, staffing, or personnel issues & escalates to Manager if necessary
  • Facilitates a productive, engaging, & safe working environment
  • Schedules Maintenance activities using SAP in collaboration with Logistics Planning and assists in department planning.  Executes standard work according to department plan supported by the Manager. Prioritizes & leads unplanned Maintenance activities based on business need
  • Schedules work cell resources to include breaks, lunches, & other activities
  • Participates in Shutdown Team planning & execution. Develops work packages for shutdown activities
  • Process confirms Maintenance activities are performed per standards
  • Supports Facilities Engineers in developing new or improved Maintenance methods & procedures (SOPs)
  • Owns KPIs & contributes to KPI reporting
  • Ensures team members are trained to the standard. Monitors performance & the completion of training to assure the competency level of work cell team members
  • Reviews documentation (Work Orders and PM) for accuracy & completeness & performs Technical Completion of PM01 & PM02 orders
  • Identifies & handles deviations, per proper procedures.  Supports cross-functional investigations.  Owns Nonconformities, QAP’s and CR’s as assigned
  • Leads, conducts, & participates in systematic problems solving
  • Owns continuous improvement plans.  Provides support to Facilities Technicians.  Owns CRs & Actions as assigned
  • Provides performance review input for work cell team members as requested by Manager
  • Support Facility Manager & fulfill responsibilities as needed
  • Other accountabilities as assigned

 

Physical Requirements

Moves equipment &/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility using various body positions. Routinely operates & inspects manufacturing equipment using hands. Ability to be on feet for up to a 12-hour shift. May require corrected vision to 20/25 based on role. May require color vision based on role. Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder. May be required to work at elevated heights. Occasionally works around odorous &/or hazardous materials. May be required to wear latex gloves. Occasionally performs critical job functions in extremely cold work environments. Occasionally positions oneself within confined spaces for inspection, repair & maintenance of equipment. Ability to work in loud noise environments with hearing protection. Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions. Able to pass a driving exam for powered industrial trucks. Does not require a valid driver’s license.

 

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in relevant field or equivalent military training or industrial training which includes a thorough understanding of mechanical, electrical & control systems preferred
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience, FDA regulated industry/environment preferred required
  • Qualified to perform operator & maintenance activities on work cell equipment required
  • Knowledgeable in the following systems: Compressed Air, WFI, Pre-Treatment, HVAC, Chill Water, Heating Hot water, Boilers, Plant Steam, Clean Steam, Electrical Distribution, Vacuum Compressed Air, Electromechanical controls, Electrical, Mechanical & Instrumentation preferred
  • In addition, ability & experience with automated records systems such as SAP, schematics, wiring diagrams & other technical documents. Computer literacy preferred
  • Experience with planning & organizing, managing execution, checking results, & revising the work plan to meet daily work plan targets required
