Our new Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) facility houses the Fermentation, Recovery and Purification in the production of ingredients for Novo Nordisk’s innovative oral products. Are you ready to help make what matters? Then, we are ready for you!

 

Position Purpose

Responsible for the operation, maintenance, administration, and improvement of selected Virtualization and Storage systems.

 

Accountabilities

  • Evaluate existing supported virtualization and SAN systems and design proposed systems to ensure lifecycle management of those systems including new technologies
  • Ensure that installation, troubleshooting, qualification & validation of infrastructure systems meets local and regulatory requirements
  • As part of an overall team, collaborate to design, build, & operate the overall Virtualization environment including storage & backup of data that meets the customer’s needs
  • Assist in oversight of cross-training other colleagues to ensure coverage & business continuity, development, coaching, performance management, recruitment & employee relations
  • Serve as a primary support resource of virtualization and storage platforms, providing Tier 2 and 3 support as defined in support model
  • Serve in team’s on call rotation and provide after-hours support to the site as required to support production needs
  • Ensure IT systems are available, capable, and accessible to meet production & business requirements
  • Direct internal process changes as required to ensure secure and available systems to support production needs
  • Manage IT department projects and support other business unit projects
  • Serve as SME during corporate and external agency audits
  • Support and practice IT Security
  • Follow all safety and environmental requirements in the performance of duties
  • Comply with internal & external regulations & procedures
  • Other accountabilities as assigned

 

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Information Technology, Engineering, Automation, or related field (MA/MS preferred)
  • 7 years of direct related experience or 10 years indirect experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft OS, Linux OS, Networking principles, and concepts of IT Security
  • Experience in System Monitoring Tools, Domain Services, Backup Solutions, Deployment of Virtualized Servers, Patch Management, and IT Security
  • Strong technical background in IT Infrastructure systems
  • Experience of using System Monitoring Tools, Domain Services (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP), Virtualization Platforms and deployment of servers, Backup Solutions and Disaster Recovery Processes, System Patch Deployment Technologies, Communication Flows and Firewalls
  • Analyzing, troubleshooting, documenting, and resolving infrastructure and business system hardware, software and networking incidents
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Certification in an IT System Administration/Engineer discipline
  • VMware vSphere (Version 6+)
  • EMC VPLEX Virtualized Storage Platform experience
  • EMC VNX, UNITY storage array experience
  • Fibre Channel Network Design, Implementation & Operational experience (Brocade SAN Hardware)
  • Backup IT Utilities including operational experience (Veritas)
  • Automated control systems
  • Six Sigma methodologies
  • GxP Pharmaceutical Environment Experience
  • Demonstrates good written & oral communication skills
  • Develops & maintains strong internal relationships
  • IT governance, including system and configuration management, business continuity, & forecasting
  • IT systems analysis
  • Information system security principles

 

Physical & Other Requirements

  • Ability to work hours necessary to support a 24/7 continuous manufacturing operation
  • Occasionally moves equipment and/or supplies weighing up to 30 pounds within the facility
  • Constantly operates a computer & other office equipment using hands
