In NC, we operate three pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities that are responsible for fulfilling different steps in our injectable and oral treatment supply chains. Our Product Supply Aseptic Manufacturing (PS AM) facility in Clayton, NC is a 457,000 square foot aseptic "fill and finish" site that is responsible for producing innovative, injectable diabetes and obesity treatments. The Position

Lead strategic activities for Aseptic Production and related Environmental Monitoring processes to ensure all business, regulatory & customer requirements are met in accordance with the Novo Nordisk Way.

 

Relationships

Reports to Corporate Vice President.

 

Essential Functions

  • Set direction by developing short & long-term objectives to drive customer & stakeholder value
  • Ensure robust processes are in place to exceed all quality objectives, specifications & requirements
  • Allocate resources: Provide strategic control of resource planning
  • Act as process advocate to overcome barriers
  • Manage Performance of direct reports
  • Drive long term process improvement strategies & perform process confirmation of standards
  • Drive standardization & collaboration across shift teams & departments
  • Manage policy development & deployment
  • Act as a productive member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT)
  • Responsible for Environmental Monitoring process (EM), to include ensuring effective investigations & corrective & preventative actions
  • Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties
  • Other accountabilities, as assigned

 

Physical Requirements

Ability to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction. Ability to travel up to 10% of the time. (% can change on a case-by-case basis based on the role.)

 

Development of People

Supervisory. Ensure that reporting personnel have individual development plans (IDP), with annual goals and measurements that are consistent with the priorities of the business, and that interim reviews are held so that their work is focused on those priorities, and they understand their level of accountability for results and the measurement process. Ensure that the IDP forms include completed learning and aspiration plans and are in place for all reporting personnel to enable the achievement of goals and capability to assume increased levels of responsibility. Manage the application and communication of all Novo Nordisk policies, procedures, and Novo Nordisk Way.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or business from an accredited university required
  • Master’s degree in science, engineering, or business from an accredited university preferred
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of leadership (direct or indirect) experience required
  • Minimum of five (5) years managing other managers’ experience required, preferably in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of twelve (12) years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry required, preferably with experience in aseptic production processes, devices & combination products
  • In-depth knowledge of aseptic manufacturing to include environmental monitoring required
