In NC, we operate three pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities that are responsible for fulfilling different steps in our injectable and oral treatment supply chains.  Our legacy Injectable Finished Products (IFP) facility in Clayton, NC is a 457,000 square foot aseptic "fill and finish" site that is responsible for producing innovative, injectable diabetes and obesity treatments. The Position

Ensure Safety Systems (SS) function as designed, meet business needs & are in constant state of compliance with applicable regulations & codes.

Manager, EHS.

 

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for operation & overall life cycle planning of Safety Systems (SS), including fire detection, fire suppression & emergency alarm systems
  • Plan & coordinate all testing, inspection & maintenance of SS
  • Manage improvements, upgrades & decommissioning of both LSS & badge access system
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations & regulatory authorities applicable to SS
  • Manage & negotiate vendor support contracts for SS
  • Assist project manager as the SME regarding SS in project planning
  • Support project teams in design, installation & commissioning of SS
  • Responsible for operation of badge access system
  • Manage & support contract security vendor at the site
  • Plan, coordinate & execute emergency drills, capture learnings & ensure improvements to the process & LSS are implemented
  • Other accountabilities, as assigned

 

Physical Requirements

May move equipment &/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility using various body positions. May be required to be on your feet for up to a 12-hour shift. May required corrected vision to 20/20 or 20/25 based on role. May require color vision based on role. May require the ability to work in loud noise environments with hearing protections.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering, physical sciences, or life sciences program; or equivalent combination of education & related experience required
  • Minimum of three (3) years of safety & environmental health experience preferred
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Life Safety Engineer or similar position a plus
  • Proven knowledge of state, federal & local safety regulations required
  • PE license a plus
  • NICET Level I/II Fire Alarm Certification a plus
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills a plus
  • Strong presentation & organizational skills preferred
  • Proven process improvement & problem-solving skills preferred
  • Computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office preferred
  • Ability to develop & manage action plans to achieve targets required
