The Position

Responsible for moderately complex scheduling, project measurement, and analysis for Construction, Engineering, and Commissioning and Validation for projects. Manage schedules for multiple projects varying in size and complexity to support projects in ensuring they come in on time and budget. Work closely with Project Management and Construction Manager to create and maintain schedules and assist with risk analysis and mitigation to support project teams in executing successful projects.

Essential Functions

  • Work with project managers to ensure schedules have complete scope coverage, identify potential scope growth, and ensure allowances and contingencies are appropriately used. Utilize industry benchmarks and internal historical durations to validate the quality of the overall schedule
  • Evaluate performance against schedule and prepare project progress reports
  • Communicate schedule status on a regular basis via formal and informal meetings and reports as requested by project managers
  • Work closely with project managers and key stakeholders to properly sequence the work, assess durations, and enhance the overall quality and accuracy of the plan to track critical path elements
  • Utilize resource loading to  support OnePlan requirements
  • Develop Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management and Validation (EPCMQV) detail schedule in collaboration with project manager and team
  • Create and maintain schedules in Microsoft Project and provide assistance with OnePlan as needed
  • Help mentor project managers with scheduling software, practices and techniques
  • Facilitate efforts to create coordinated schedules for semi-annual maintenance outages (shutdown)
  • Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties
  • Other accountabilities, as assigned

 

Physical Requirements

May move equipment &/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility using various body positions. May be required to be on your feet for up to a 12-hour shift. May required corrected vision to 20/20 or 20/25 based on role. May require color vision based on role. May require the ability to work in loud noise environments with hearing protections.

 

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology or other Technical Science field of study from an accredited university required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
    • May consider a High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of seven (7) years of proven project scheduling experience required
  • Minimum of five (5) years of proven project scheduling experience required
  • Minimum of three (3) years of direct schedule management experience of simultaneous multiple projects required
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience working in a pharmaceutical/GMP environment is preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Project software required
  • Working knowledge of OnePlan or Smartsheet is a plus
  • Understanding of building construction, timelines, and practices is a plus
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings required
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills preferred
  • Knowledge and understanding of project management processes preferred
  • Pharmaceutical / GMP environment preferred
  • Working knowledge/experience of building & utility equipment is a plus
  • Ability to develop & maintain strong internal and external relationships required
  • Proficiency at problem solving, negotiation, conflict management, & interpersonal skills required
  • Skilled in planning, coordinating & prioritizing activities required
  • Proven skill in development, planning/organizing, managing execution, & revising project schedules required
  • Initiative, ability to function independently required
  • Functions well in team environment required
  • Ability to multi-task & prioritize tasks as required is preferred
