In NC, we operate three pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities that are responsible for fulfilling different steps in our injectable and oral treatment supply chains.  Our legacy Injectable Finished Products (IFP) facility in Clayton, NC is a 457,000 square foot aseptic "fill and finish" site that is responsible for producing innovative, injectable diabetes and obesity treatments. Position Purpose

This position will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day capital projects. Incumbent will be responsible for ensuring project schedule, scope & budget are adhered to according to approved project plan. This role will also be responsible for generating business cases related to project & presenting to local & global management structures to attain funding & approvals.

 

Accountabilities

  • Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties
  • Responsible for ensuring project plan accomplishes time, quality, & cost objective
  • Responsible for adherence to mechanism for monitoring project progress, intervention & problem solving with other line managers or personnel
  • Responsible for information exchange
  • Responsible for communications to management & other pertinent units
  • Assist with any training required of personnel supporting the project
  • Ensure that installation, troubleshooting, qualification, & validation of equipment meets all commitments laid out by the overall project
  • Responsible for development & execution of projects identified as process needs & improvement opportunities
  • Other accountabilities, as assigned

 

Required Qualifications

BA/BS degree in engineering or related technical field or equivalent combination of experience & education.

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Advanced Project Management competencies obtained through relevant PM training or experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years of engineering experience in facility infrastructure as well as manufacturing experience in a pharmaceutical environment
  • Minimum of five (5) years proven project / portfolio management skills with major capital projects
  • P&ID, HVAC, electrical systems, & computer literacy
  • Understanding of complicated product documentation & standard operating procedures with attention to high-level concepts
  • Basic understanding of contractual documents & ability to create work plans & detailed project schedules
  • Proven project management experience with direct management of multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proven expertise in mentoring/development, planning/organizing, managing execution, & revising the work plan for complex problems solved by cross functional teams
  • Initiative, ability to function independently
  • Good judgment in decision making as well as very good leadership skills
  • Functions well in team environment

 

Physical & Other Requirements

  • Occasionally moves equipment &/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility using various body positions
  • Routinely operates & inspects manufacturing equipment using hands
  • Must be ability to be on your feet for up to a 12-hours
  • Corrected Vision to 20/30
  • Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder to service equipment & can work atop elevated positions
  • Occasionally works around odorous &/or hazardous materials. May be required to wear latex gloves
  • Occasionally positions self within confined spaces for inspection, repair & maintenance of equipment
  • Ability to work in loud noise environments with hearing protection
  • Constantly operates a computer & other office equipment using hands
  • Ability to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction
  • Ability to work the hours necessary to support a 24/7 continuous manufacturing operation
  • Requires ability to move throughout the facility in the performance of duties in proximity of process equipment & areas
  • Ability to adjust schedule to work with colleagues in other international time zones
  • Ability to travel internationally, as requested (up to 20%)
