Our Clayton, NC Diabetes Finished Products (DFP) facility is a 457,000 square foot aseptic "fill and finish" site that is responsible for producing innovative, injectable diabetes and obesity treatments. Position Purpose

Manage raw material planning & purchasing processes for AP &/or FP manufacturing lines to ensure availability of material for production. Coordinate & optimize the flow of raw materials from ordering through release for production. Maintain purchase planning master data. Plan production orders for component processing (Wash & Sterilization & Autoclaves) as needed.

 

Accountabilities

  • Ability to plan & order materials for all AP & FP manufacturing processes & products
  • Ensure raw materials & critical components for manufacturing are ordered & delivered based on the production schedule
  • Monitor & track deliveries, status, & inventories of materials to ensure the right materials are available at the right time to meet production plans
  • Manage change order activities relating to creation & obsolescence of production materials
  • Update & ensure master data accuracy for materials
  • Manage suppliers to achieve planned outcomes based on business needs
  • Drive improvement in supplier performance
  • Collaborate with stakeholders (including, but not limited to AP, FP, IQC, & QAPS), as warranted, on testing, release of materials, & problem solving
  • Optimize use of materials by monitoring & tracking expiration to minimize scrap
  • Drive improvement & optimization of the flow of incoming materials, including the documentation & prioritization of deliveries
  • Develop material planning standards
  • Handle supplier quality issues, including internal complaints (IC) & non-conformities (NCs)
  • Oversee contract sourcing, management, & negotiation
  • Conduct assignments in compliance with cGMP’s, approved SOP’s, & company policies & procedures, including PSPS requirements
  • Resolve pricing, quality, & delivery issues with suppliers & receipt or order discrepancies
  • Represent Clayton on global & local project teams for changes that affect SC processes
  • Coordinate sourcing activities with StSo in Denmark for assigned materials
  • Develop reporting tools & metrics as needed to monitor the process & provide transparency
  • Communicate supply issues effectively & with urgency with production, quality, & other stakeholders to minimize disruptions

 

Required Qualifications

BS/BA in Logistics, Business, or related field.

 

Desired Qualifications

  • MBA preferred
  • 3 or more years of experience in planning /purchasing or related field; or combination of relevant education & experience
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills; good presentation skills
  • Computer skills including experience with Office & electronic material management systems (SAP)
  • Demonstrated vendor negotiation skills
  • Able to develop & manage action plans to achieve targets

 

Physical & Other Requirements

  • Normal office environment
  • Some travel overseas required; travel to visit vendor sites also required
