In NC, we operate three pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities that are responsible for fulfilling different steps in our injectable and oral treatment supply chains. Our Product Supply Aseptic Manufacturing (PS AM) facility in Clayton, NC is a 457,000 square foot aseptic "fill and finish" site that is responsible for producing innovative, injectable diabetes and obesity treatments. The Position

Manage Inventory Control team and Receiving team, including planning & import/export activities within Novo Nordisk's IFP Clayton facility with an emphasis on timeliness & accuracy, continual improvement, & compliance to cGMPs.

 

Relationships

Reports to Manager.

 

Essential Functions

  • Manage receipts of all incoming materials to site Clayton & External Warehouses
  • Manage scheduling of incoming shipments with couriers / transport companies
  • Maintain & develop department procedures / SOP’s according to cGMP’s
  • Develop / track internal metrics to measure department performance
  • Manage implementation of corporate initiatives for the Receiving area responsibilities
  • Manage monthly and annual inventory count life cycle, both on-site and off-site to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Improve customers feedback through frequent communication with internal & external customers
  • Implement PS Production System elements, through continuous improvements in accordance with the NNWay
  • Coach & mentor direct reports including Receiving Operators, & Inventory Control (personnel development, reviewing / evaluating / improving performance, etc.)
  • Support Product transfers, new Product entries & Product launches to support market demand
  • Implement LEAN in the receiving and inventory control areas, show a LEAN mindset
  • Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties
  • Other accountabilities, as assigned

 

Physical Requirements

May move equipment &/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility using various body positions. May be required to be on your feet for up to a 12 hour shift. May required corrected vision to 20/20 or 20/25 based on role. May require color vision based on role. May require the ability to work in loud noise environments with hearing protections.

 

Development Of People

Supervisory. Ensure that reporting personnel have individual development plans (IDP), with annual goals and measurements that are consistent with the priorities of the business, and that interim reviews are held so that their work is focused on those priorities, and they understand their level of accountability for results and the measurement process. Ensure that the IDP forms include completed learning and aspiration plans and are in place for all reporting personnel to enable the achievement of goals and capability to assume increased levels of responsibility. Manage the application and communication of all Novo Nordisk policies, procedures, and Novo Nordisk Way.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business or related field of study from an accredited university required
    • May consider an Associate’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field of study from an accredited university with a minimum seven(7) years of increasingly progressive warehouse/production support experience (Shipping/Receiving & Inventory Control) required
    • May consider a High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of nine (9) years of increasingly progressive warehouse/production support experience (Shipping/Receiving & Inventory Control) required
  • Minimum of five (5) years of increasingly progressive warehouse/production support experience (Shipping/Receiving & Inventory Control) required 
  • Minimum of three (3) years of production/production support supervisory experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry required
  • Project management experience preferred
  • Proven process improvement & problem-solving skills preferred
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills; good presentation skills required
  • Experience with ERP/MRP (SAP) systems required
  • Proven process improvement & problem-solving skills preferred, Green Belt certification a plus
  • Kanban / LEAN manufacturing experience preferred
  • cGMP & FDA regulations knowledge preferred
  • Ability to develop & manage action plans to achieve targets required
