In NC, we operate three pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities that are responsible for fulfilling different steps in our injectable and oral treatment supply chains. Our legacy Injectable Finished Products (IFP) facility in Clayton, NC is a 457,000 square foot aseptic "fill and finish" site that is responsible for producing innovative, injectable diabetes and obesity treatments. The Position
Ownership of Clayton Fill & Finish Expansion (FFEx) business plan and strategy. Provide over-all management and guidance to FFEx department PMs and relevant project activities. Provide vision and direction, as developed by leadership, into actionable steps.

Essential Functions
- Ensure group of PMs and CMs and support staff accomplish time, quality, cost and objectives of investment projects and project mission for the FFEx program
- Establish and maintain project execution standards and systems to successfully execute capital investment projects in line with Novo Nordisk (NN) Project Execution Model (PEM) and the global FFEXP organization
- Communicate and escalate to management, PPM, and other pertinent units
- Responsible of training required of personnel supporting the project portfolio for project management process
- Develop PMs to execute projects that directly support strategic goals for site capacity
- Identify and develop working relationships with customers at all levels (incl internal engineering, operations teams, and support functions)
- Ensure effective cost management for all capital projects
- Support program governance and relation with headquarter team, creating transparency and alignment regarding project execution
- Contribute and collaborate across all boundaries to challenge project ideas, generate innovation, and optimize execution of projects
- Work with continuous process improvement via cLEAN® mindset
- Follow all safety and environmental requirements in the performance of duties

Physical Requirements
Occasionally moves equipment and/or supplies weighing up to thirty-three (33) pounds. Ability to move throughout the facility in the performance of duties in proximity of process equipment & areas. Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment using hands. Ability to work in loud noise environments with hearing protection. Ability to work the hours necessary to support a twenty-four/seven (24/7) continuous manufacturing operation and/or project implementation windows. Ability to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction. Ability to adjust schedule to work with colleagues in other international time zones. Ability to travel internationally, up to ten percent (10%) of the time, as requested.
Development of People
Supervisory, ensure that reporting personnel have individual development plans (IDP), with annual goals and measurements that are consistent with the priorities of the business, and that interim reviews are held so that their work is focused on those priorities, and they understand their level of accountability for results and the measurement process. Ensure that the IDP forms include completed learning and aspiration plans and are in place for all reporting personnel to enable the achievement of goals and capability to assume increased levels of responsibility. Manage the application and communication of all Novo Nordisk policies, procedures, and Novo Nordisk Way.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a relevant field of study from an accredited university required
- Master's degree in Engineering or a relevant field of study from an accredited university preferred
- PMP certification preferred
- Minimum of seven (7) years of leadership/management/project management or consultancy required
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, or quality, preferably in a pharmaceutical or other regulated industry required
- Knowledge in systems within pharmaceutical industries to include parenteral drug production preferred
- Knowledge of large CAPEX projects with focus on PMI/Novo Nordisk project management governance an advantage required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- Driver for process improvement/design via LEAN, Six Sigma and Systematic Problem Solving (SPS) methodologies required
- Proven expertise in mentoring/development, change management, planning/organizing, managing execution, and revising the work plan for complex problems solved by cross functional teams required
- Strong collaborative and stakeholder management skills required
- Proven project management experience with direct management of multiple projects simultaneously, both large and small capital investments required
