The Position

Manage the Public Affairs & Communications team's Alliance Development & Social Impact strategy by managing existing strategic partnership activities, leading coalition work, identifying/establishing new strategic partnerships that drive business and industry leadership on behalf of PSQIT in the US and North Carolina. In addition, the role will be responsible for strategic development, implementation and management of our corporate giving, in alignment with the company's overall vision, mission, and priorities. Responsible for ensuring that all requests are reviewed and vetted thoroughly as well as meet legal and compliance requirements. Accountable for managing functional objectives to activate employee engagement with community groups with whom partnerships are established.

 

Relationships

Reports to Director. Interacts with internal colleagues and external stakeholders on Alliance Development and Social Impact projects. Works directly with members of the Public Affairs & Communications team, and others within the organization including NNI and other Global teams as project needs dictate.

 

Essential Functions

  • Manage Alliance Development work with external organizations
  • Drive development and implementation of strategies for NNPILP’s corporate giving and social impact, ensuring that such strategies are aligned with the company’s overall mission and priorities
  • Coordinate stakeholder activations around business & industry leadership opportunities and enhance NNPILP’s reputation and presence in communities
  • Represent NNPILP through social and community engagement externally including presenting and participating at local, state and regional conferences
  • Conceive of and draft presentations for internal and external use
  • Coordinate team contracts with external stakeholders and consultants
  • Work with external parties to initiate, coordinate coalitions, special projects, and events related to alliance development
  • Oversee strategy, budget, and programming for strategic partnerships, sponsorships, and corporate giving to ensure alignment and outcome success
  • Manage multiple processes, procedures, or programs and develop process and criteria for evaluation
  • Perform a variety of complex activities in support of finance, such as assisting in the monthly process, account analysis, and reconciliations as needed
  • Stakeholder Engagement Events: manage event and coordination for public affairs-sponsored programs
  • Coordinate Alliance Development engagement with NNI and NNPILP Public Affairs teams
  • Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties
  • Other accountabilities, as assigned

 

Physical Requirements

Ability to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction. Ability to travel up to 10% of the time (% can change on a case-by-case basis based on the role).

 

Development of People

Ensure that reporting personnel have individual development plans (IDP), with annual goals and measurements that are consistent with the priorities of the business, and that interim reviews are held so that their work is focused on those priorities, and they understand their level of accountability for results and the measurement process.

 

Ensure that the IDP forms include completed learning and aspiration plans and are in place for all reporting personnel to enable the achievement of goals and capability to assume increased levels of responsibility.

 

Manage the application and communication of all Novo Nordisk policies, procedures, and Novo Nordisk Way.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of corporate , non-profit, business or community organization experience required
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ direct supervisory experience required
  • Comprehensive understanding of the business and day-to-day operations required
  • Excellent organizational, planning and follow-through skills required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.  Strong Power Point skills preferred
  • Self-starter; proactive, flexible, customer-focused, problem-solver, issue spotter and have a professional demeanor required
  • Demonstrated competencies in the technical, regulatory, legal, or other terminology specific to the appropriate functional processes, as well as a thorough knowledge of department and organization policies and procedures in assigned area of responsibility required
  • Must possess demonstrated skills in PC applications, typically involving new/emerging technologies, such as on-line databases, optical technology, intranet /internet, and computer software programs specific to the function
  • Demonstrated competencies in the technical, regulatory, and legal terminology of the functional processes required
  • Work under limited supervision, exercising independent discretion and judgment, where input to changes in work processes and workflow required
  • Use of software and new/emerging technologies in performing the duties of the position to compile and generate reports, statistics, timelines, tables, graphs, correspondence, and presentations required
  • Positive attitude and strong advocacy skills to work well with colleagues required
