In NC, we operate three pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities that are responsible for fulfilling different steps in our injectable and oral treatment supply chains.  Our newer Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) facility in Clayton, NC sits on 825,000 square-feet of state-of-the-art equipment, and houses the Fermentation, Recovery and Purification in the production of ingredients for Novo Nordisk’s innovative oral products.  At API, you’ll join a global network of manufacturing professionals who are passionate about what they do.

The Position

Provide operational support as part of a cross-functional IT infrastructure team. Customers are desktop users, automation colleagues, plus local & global support. Operate the facility with cable management, network infrastructure, system support & administration. Provide production operations support as required, including serving as part of an on-call rotation.

 

Relationships

Reports to Manager, IT Operations & Support.

 

Essential Functions

  • Responsive end-user support
  • Hands-on support for manufacturing & business network operations
  • Support mobile operations devices (barcode scanners & PCs) & end users
  • Support local QC laboratory IT systems
  • Manage network backup operations
  • Serve as bridge between desktop support & IT infrastructure
  • Inventory control of patch cables, video cables, peripherals & other IT items
  • Manage relationships with customers, corporate management, & external vendors/contractors
  • Comply with internal & external regulations & procedures
  • Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties
  • Work independently when required
  • Document & deploy standard practices around networks & cabling to ensure no single person points of failure
  • Accomplish daily activities in project mode & later in operational mode
  • Other accountabilities, as assigned

 

Physical Requirements

Ability to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction. Ability to travel up to 10% of the time. (% can change on a case-by-case basis based on the role.)

 

Qualifications

  • AS/AA in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field preferred
  • Minimum four (4) years of IT experience required
  • Windows O/S required
  • Cisco Access Points, Switches required
  • Cisco Modular Stacking required
  • IT Utilities including operational experience preferred
  • IT Security including settings, patching, user support preferred
  • IT infrastructure to be used for manufacturing systems a plus
  • Six Sigma méthodologies a plus
  • GxP Pharmaceutical Environment Experience preferred
  • Cisco or equivalent certifications preferred
  • Operational experience – actual usage of network equipment in an operating facility; network cable management experience required
  • Excellent problem-solving skills preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills preferred
  • Strong project management skills preferred
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills preferred
