In NC, we operate three pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities that are responsible for fulfilling different steps in our injectable and oral treatment supply chains. Our Product Supply Aseptic Manufacturing (PS AM) facility in Clayton, NC is a 457,000 square foot aseptic "fill and finish" site that is responsible for producing innovative, injectable diabetes and obesity treatments. The Position

Supports financial performance management and business decision-making for DPM US through planning, analysis, performance reporting, and preparation of close inputs. The role helps translate business priorities into actionable financial plans, provides visibility to risks and opportunities, and supports alignment between operational drivers, consolidated results, and resource allocation. This position contributes to strong financial governance, reliable reporting, and continuous improvement of Finance processes across the DPM US value chain at Novo Nordisk, including close collaboration with Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) activities and performance dialogue.

 

Relationships

Reports to Director or above. Interacts with business leaders and cross-functional stakeholders across the DPM US value chain at Novo Nordisk.

 

Essential Functions

  • Act as a finance partner supporting business decision-making across DPM US by providing structured analysis, insights, and financial guidance to stakeholders at Novo Nordisk
  • Partner with stakeholders to align financial plans with business priorities, operational objectives, and resource allocation decisions within areas of responsibility
  • Support development of annual budget, contributing to AB / RE / LE, rolling forecasts, and long-range plans for DPM US in collaboration with Finance, FP&A, and business stakeholders
  • Contribute to consolidated financial performance reporting and analysis for DPM US, ensuring consistency, high-quality analyses, reconciliations, transparency, and reliable decision support
  • Prepare inputs for month-end close and ensure accurate, timely, and complete financial data submissions in line with reporting requirements
  • Support monthly and quarterly performance reviews by preparing relevant financial and operational analyses for business discussions and follow-up actions
  • Perform variance analysis versus AB, RE and LE, identifying key drivers, risks, and opportunities for discussion with the business
  • Support linkage between operational drivers, capacity assumptions, and financial out-comes across the Product Supply value chain
  • Support development and evaluation of business cases and investment proposals using appropriate financial analysis and assumptions
  • Contribute to financial modeling, scenario analysis, and sensitivity assessments to support informed business and investment decisions
  • Evaluate investment opportunities and business cases using robust financial analyses with a consolidated DPM US perspective and driven by ROI-focused decision-making across the organisation
  • Ensure disciplined capital allocation and follow-up on investment performance across DPM US operations
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, internal controls, and governance requirements within scope at Novo Nordisk
  • Support audit processes, documentation requirements, and management reporting activities related to performance management and decision support
  • Promote transparency in cost management, financial performance, and resource allocation discussions across supported areas
  • Drive improvements in reporting, forecasting, and analysis processes to strengthen decision support and performance visibility
  • Support automation and standardization of Finance processes and deliverables, including closer alignment with FP&A best practices
  • Contribute to effective collaboration across Finance, operations, and other cross-functional stakeholders at Novo Nordisk
  • Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties
  • Other accountabilities as assigned

 

Physical Requirements

Ability to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction. Ability to travel up to 10% of the time. (% can change on a case-by-case basis based on the role.)

 

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field of study from an accredited university required and a minimum of three (3) years of progressive experience within Finance, FP&A, Business Finance, Controlling, or Finance Business Partnering required
  • In lieu of Master's Degree with three (3) years of experience, may consider a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field of study from an accredited university with a minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience within Finance, FP&A, Business Finance, Controlling, or Finance Business Partnering required
  • Proven experience partnering with senior leaders and influencing business decisions required
  • Strong expertise in Financial planning and forecasting, Performance management, Financial modeling and business case development, Investment and portfolio analysis, Management re-porting, and Cost management and resource allocation required
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities required
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills required
  • Fluency in written and spoken English required
  • Experience from pharmaceutical, life science, manufacturing, or highly regulated industries preferred
  • Experience supporting complex global organizations and matrix structures preferred
  • Strong understanding of value chain economics and operational finance preferred
  • Experience with SAP, Copilot etc preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership of cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives preferred
  • Strong business judgment, integrity, and accountability, with the ability to make sound decisions in a dynamic and complex environment required
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with a collaborative mindset and the ability to influence across functions required
