In Clayton, NC, we now operate two adjacent pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities that are responsible for fulfilling different steps in our injectable and oral treatment supply chains.  
 
Our Clayton, NC Diabetes Finished Products (DFP) facility is a 457,000 square foot aseptic "fill and finish" site that is responsible for producing innovative, injectable diabetes and obesity treatments. Position Purpose

Facilities Maintenance Technicians support & improve all facility maintenance efforts including preventive/predictive maintenance efforts, repairs, troubleshooting & new equipment installation. They execute & improve preventative & predictive maintenance for facilities & utility equipment. Additionally, they support & participate in plant shutdown activities for facilities & utility equipment & participate in systematic problem solving.

 

Accountabilities

  • Problem solving using SPS tools
  • Perform corrective & preventative maintenance on systems & equipment
  • Operate, monitor & control equipment, systems & processes assigned
  • Review SOPs & PMs documentation & others as required
  • Support & implementation of System/Equipment reliability improvement projects
  • Train fellow employees in areas of expertise & aggressively learn systems & equipment outside of own expertise
  • Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties
  • Participation in plant Shutdown planning & execution
  • Growth & development of the Facility Maintenance Team
  • Assure that all Maintenance activities are documented in SAP & communicated in the shift turnover reports
  • Actively use the Daily Standard Work Tool to account for the day to day activities
  • Other accountabilities, as assigned

 

Required Qualifications

Minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience.

 

Desired Qualifications

  • AA/AS/AAS in relevant field and/or certification/license/qualified in ONE of the listed processes in the “Process Alignment” section & industrial training, which includes a thorough understanding of Refrigeration, HVAC, Mechanical, Electrical & Control Systems
  • Knowledgeable in the following systems: Refrigeration Systems, Compressed Air, HVAC Systems, High Pressure/Low Pressure Steam, Clean/Purified Steam, WFI Systems, RO/WFI Pre-treatment, Chill Water Systems, BMS (Building Management System) & Instrumentation & Electrical systems
  • Ability & experience with automated records systems such as SAP, schematics, wiring diagrams & other engendered documentations
  • Proven expertise in planning/organizing, managing execution, checking results & revising the work plan in accordance with the daily work plan

 

Physical & Other Requirements

  • Occasionally moves equipment and/or supplies weighing up to 50 pounds within the facility using various body positions
  • Routinely operates & inspects manufacturing equipment using hands
  • Ability to be on feet for up to a 12 hour shift
  • Corrected vision to 20/30
  • Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder to access service equipment & can work atop elevated positions
  • Occasionally works around odorous and/or hazardous materials
  • May be required to wear latex gloves
  • Occasionally performs critical job functions in extremely cold work environments
  • Occasionally positions self within confined spaces for inspection, repair & maintenance of equipment
  • Able to work in loud noise environments with hearing protection
  • Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions
  • Able to pass a driving exam for powered industrial trucks
