Novo Nordisk expects to double production of diabetes and obesity products over the next decade; we have recently completed construction of a 825,000 sq. ft diabetes Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) plant in Clayton, NC. Our new API facility houses the fermentation, recovery and purification of GLP1 ingredients for Novo Nordisk’s innovative oral products. Position Purpose

Manage Early Talent programs for Novo Nordisk NC sites. Responsible for leading, implementing & driving new strategies & initiatives to create an exceptional intern/apprenticeship program & experience. Position supports HR programs & processes while championing the Novo Nordisk Way.



  • Develop & manage life cycle of intern programs for Novo Nordisk NC Sites, considering business critical talent needs
  • Develop & maintain Novo Nordisk relationships with local universities & manage all related university/college talent events in partnership with Talent Acquisition team
  • Collaborates with talent acquisition team in recruiting & onboarding new interns/apprentices
  • Collaborate with applicable P&O COEs/Operations teams & Legal regarding compliance/administration of Global Graduate Program & intern/apprentice programs
  • Serve as the central point of contact & communication on issues related to Early Talent initiatives to attract diversity into the Early Talent Program
  • Address any HR related issues & topics with Early Talent interns
  • Identify Novo Nordisk NC Graduate opportunities & influence the Global Graduate Program committee to invest in US Graduates
  • Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration & commitment across multiple teams with competing priorities. Lead the communications strategy to inform & educate stakeholders on outcomes & partnership needs of the programs
  • Support HR processes: change management & communications support, talent management, performance/rewards initiatives, individual development plan support, engagement survey results, team development plans, performance interventions, selection process, exit interviews, turnover analysis, job description development & new hire orientation
  • Other duties:  NNWay (modeling & teaching values), training, promoting diversity, training needs assessment, new employee orientation segments, meeting planning & co-facilitation
  • Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties
  • Other specialist duties (process championship roles), as assigned, to support HR Partners & business


Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS in human resources or related field
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience in HR related field
  • Excellent project management skills. Strong analytical skills
  • Organizational development programs execution, including performance/rewards, individual development planning, talent acquisition, problem solving, future planning, organizational development, engagement, D&I project exposure, etc.


Desired Qualifications

  • PHR or SPHR certification
  • Talent acquisition experience with recruiting on a college campus
  • Familiarity with Human Resources practices & procedures & experience with employee relations
  • Business understanding
  • Knowledge/Experience with HR self-service portal/systems
  • Communications: written, verbal & presentation. Ability to impact & influence
  • Proven expertise in organizing information & people across the organization to develop & implement policies & programs to promote positive employee relations & support core processes that meet or exceed business goals


Physical & Other Requirements

  • Ability to move throughout the facility to interact with people managers & employees in a normal office & manufacturing environment
  • Requires flexibility to work whatever hours are required for execution of duties in a 24/7 operation, including some evenings and/or weekends to meet with shift management & employees
  • Overnight travel required on occasion
