EHS Intern

This is a paid, ten-week internship during the summer of 2021.


Job Summary

As an EHS Intern at Novo Nordisk your duties may include:

  • Managing at least 1 EHS improvement project
  • Developing and/or implementing Environmental, Health & Safety programs
  • Conducting EHS assessments/inspections & work with area managers to ensure timely remediation of identified issues
  • Communicating EHS performance statistics on a monthly/weekly basis
  • Helping engineers with small process improvement projects
  • Increasing the awareness of safety through various communication tools
  • Preparing and delivering a presentation to management on the details of your project at the conclusion of the internship
  • Performing other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications

  • Must be a rising junior, rising senior or graduate student
  • Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in safety, environmental science, or related field


Desired Qualifications

  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale at the time of application
  • 0-6 months of work-related EHS experience


Technical/Process/Functional Knowledge

Knowledgeable in the health, safety and/or environmental fields.



Able to develop and manage action plans to achieve targets.

Physical & Other Requirements may include

  • Ability to work in areas with odors/hazardous materials, near operating equipment, in high places, confined spaces and in moderate to loud noise environments
  • Available to work hours necessary to support production and maintenance activities
  • Ability to work in & around an active construction site during project phase
