In NC, we operate three pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities that are responsible for fulfilling different steps in our injectable and oral treatment supply chains. Our Product Supply Aseptic Manufacturing (PS AM) facility in Clayton, NC is a 457,000 square foot aseptic "fill and finish" site that is responsible for producing innovative, injectable diabetes and obesity treatments. The Position

As a member of the site management team, the incumbent of the role will be setting the agenda within all people related processes, organizational development, and training procedures. Further will act as the trusted advisor for the Vice President and the site leadership team. Will ensure world class P&O processes fit for the production sites and assume leadership of above site People & Organization (P&O) priorities across the full Drug Product Manufacturing US (DPM US) footprint. Further, incumbent will lead the local training teams/functions anchored in P&O, including Training & Technical Writing teams and will lead the integration of the current site with the coming greenfield expansion.

Essential Functions

  • Translate business strategies and priorities into concrete P&O strategies and plans, ensuring organizational development and effectiveness
  • Act as the trusted advisor for the Vice President and the management team, provide expert advice & counsel
  • Drive the agendas on Culture & engagement, leading organizational change management, talent development and resource management
  • Lead the discussions about organizational response and development for the business challenges as a part of the Business Review process/meetings
  • Deliver projects that continuously improve the employee life cycle: attraction, onboarding, development, performance, rewards & exit
  • Lead the organizational aspects of the handover of the greenfield project by owning the organizational integration planning process and the strategic and operational workforce planning processes
  • Responsible for the planning and execution of a seamless integration between Site Clayton and the greenfield project on all P&O topics by setting high standards for efficiency and optimization
  • Responsible for leading and developing a strong P&O department in Site Clayton with the right capabilities to lead and support the growth of Site Clayton by the integration of the greenfield project
  • Lead the above-site and PMO function by role modelling Enterprise Leadership and proactively execute on strategic priorities across SVP areas by aligning, designing, and ensuring scalable solutions serving all US sites
  • Sustain company values (Novo Nordisk way) by delivering clear and concise feedback on performance and behaviors while empowering managers to do the same
  • Establish & continuously improve programs, practices & policies which serve the needs of the business & the needs of employees
  • Role model P&O shop floor presence securing strong understanding and escalation of P&O related issues
  • Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties
  • Other accountabilities, as assigned

 

Physical Requirements

Ability to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction. Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

 

Development of People

Supervisory. Ensure that reporting personnel have individual development plans (IDP), with annual goals and measurements that are consistent with the priorities of the business, and that interim reviews are held so that their work is focused on those priorities, and they understand their level of accountability for results and the measurement process. Ensure that the IDP forms include completed learning and aspiration plans and are in place for all reporting personnel to enable the achievement of goals and capability to assume increased levels of responsibility. Manage the application and communication of all Novo Nordisk policies, procedures, and Novo Nordisk Way.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Human Resources, or a relevant field of study from an accredited university required
  • Master’s degree in business administration, Human Resources, or relevant field of study from an accredited university preferred
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred
  • Minimum of twelve (12) years of broad human resources management experience required, preferably in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of five (5) years of direct management experience required
  • Excellent working knowledge of all functional areas within Human Resources, including training in regulated environments & relevant U.S. employment law at the federal, state & local level, including Affirmative Action requirements required
  • Experience with organizational mergers, acquisitions and integrations is required
  • Experience working with regional policy development and execution is required
  • Outstanding people leadership skills to set direction, dare to speak up, listen and create followship required
  • Strong experience in the P&O function and ability to navigate stakeholders on different levels of the organization, ensuring all is linked to a P&O shop floor perspective required
  • Experience within training and training systems from a pharmaceutical perspective is required
  • Outstanding written, verbal, & public speaking skills required
  • Demonstrated excellence in coaching, facilitation, & communication required
  • Outstanding organization & planning skills & development of meaningful objectives & action plans to support stakeholders required
