About the Department 

You will be joining Fill & Finish Expansions (FFEx), which is responsible for all major expansion activities within aseptic production, solid dosage forms, finished products, fill & finish warehousing, and QC across all production areas in Product Supply. The area is anchored in Product Supply, Quality & IT, which globally employ approx. 20,000 of Novo Nordisk’s 50,000 employees.

 

FFEx is a newly established and growing area with the responsibility to design, plan, and build all new aseptic filling capacity across Novo Nordisk to serve the needs of millions of patients. We do it by rethinking our production facilities with the use of modern technology, as we are setting the standards for the aseptic production of the future. Facilities designed today which we will still be proud of 20 years from now. FF Expansions has a global approach, where you will be working with multiple sites and cultures across the world.

The Position

Responsible for assisting with design and implementation of manufacturing processes, instrumentation and equipment start-ups from the laboratory through manufacturing scale.

Reports to: According to the organizational chart

Number of subordinates with direct/indirect referral: N/A

 

Essential Functions

  • Assist with coordinating fabrication, procurement, installation, engineering start-up, and validation activities of new equipment and systems, including documentation of IQ/OQ protocols, test executions, and summary reports
  • Participate in the development and implementation of procedural or automation improvement changes
  • Participate in design and hazard reviews of plant expansions or process changes
  • Support person for process improvement activities; including performing or authoring equipment specifications, user and functional requirements specifications, and necessary FAT and SAT protocols
  • Performs all job duties and responsibilities in a compliant and ethical manner and in accordance with all applicable healthcare laws, regulations and industry codes
  • Incorporates the Novo Nordisk Way and 10 Essentials in all activities and interactions with others

 

Physical Requirements

0-10% overnight travel required. The ability to climb. stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, and walk. The ability to push, pull, lift, finger, feel, and grasp. The ability to speak, listen, and understand verbal and written communication. Repetition including substantial movement of wrists, hands, and or fingers. Lifting up to 33lbs/15kg of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Visual acuity to perform close activities such as: reading, writing, and analyzing; and visual inspection. The working environment includes a variety of physical conditions including: noise, inside and outside conditions, working in narrow aisles, and temperature changes; atmospheric conditions including: odors, fumes, and dust.

 

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering/related field or Equivalent (experience + education)
  • 0-2+ years of work-related engineering experience in Design, Maintenance, Process Improvement
  • Knowledgeable in the following systems:  Instrument & Electrical, Mechanical, Control/SCADA/PLCs, Process Improvement Methodologies, Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
  • Proven expertise in planning/organization/execution of engineering activities, following up on results, & revising the work plan for complex problems being resolved by cross functional teams
