The Position
The Associate Director, Executive Office & Strategy serves as a strategic partner to the Group Vice President, working closely with stakeholders across the organization to develop and implement initiatives that advance the US Drug Product Manufacturing strategy. In collaboration with the Group Vice President, this role helps translate strategy into clear plans and execution, enabling the Group Vice President to stay focused on top priorities. The ideal candidate brings strong business acumen, structured problem solving, and a proven track record of leading cross-functional initiatives in a complex, matrixed environment.

Reports to Director or above.
Essential Functions
- Own the US Drug Product Manufacturing level strategy end to end, maintaining the central strategy repository, governance cadence, and alignment between strategic ambition, priorities, and organizational enablers
- Ownership of key strategic processes on GVP level (BRM, risk, and business continuity among other) and ensure facilitation of decision making and input from stakeholders across the area
- Strategy activation and initiative delivery: convert strategic priorities into actionable initiatives and operating plans with clear owners, timelines, success metrics, and delivery governance; lead or sponsor cross functional workstreams to achieve results
- Represent GVP in dialogues and meetings with stakeholders across the organization through effective communication based on understanding of different preferences and perspectives; develop and deliver clear, compelling reports, presentations, and documentation that communicate complex information and are tailored to the needs of diverse stakeholders across and beyond the GVP and EVP organizations
- Manage multiple high-priority assignments through effective prioritization and time management, ensuring clear leadership and direction for the team’s area of responsibility
- Change management and adoption: design and embed change management approaches (communications, training, stakeholder engagement) to ensure organizational readiness and sustained adoption of strategic shifts
- Partner with finance to ensure alignment between strategy and financial milestones
- Strategic roadmap development: create and evolve a 3–5 year strategic roadmap that defines future direction, identifies enterprise opportunities, and aligns mid /long term ambitions with business priorities including the business review meeting process
- Performance measurement and continuous improvement: define KPIs and dashboards, monitor execution performance, recommend course corrections, and drive continuous improvement of strategy processes and tools
- Organize and lead leadership meetings, and offsites, including follow up actions
- Provide advice & training as necessary concerning relevant company policies
- Follow all safety and environmental requirements in the performance of duties

Physical Requirements
Ability to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction. Ability to travel up to 10% of the time. (% can change on a case-by-case basis based on the role.)
Development of People
Supervisory. Ensure that reporting personnel have individual development plans (IDP), with annual goals and measurements that are consistent with the priorities of the business, and that interim reviews are held so that their work is focused on those priorities, and they understand their level of accountability for results and the measurement process. Ensure that the IDP forms include completed learning and aspiration plans and are in place for all reporting personnel to enable the achievement of goals and capability to assume increased levels of responsibility. Manage the application and communication of all Novo Nordisk policies, procedures, and Novo Nordisk Way.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field of study from an accredited university required
- Master’s degree in a relevant field of study from an accredited university preferred
- Certification within change management or project management is preferred
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience, with demonstrated leadership of strategy, operations, business planning and cross-functional initiatives in a complex business environment required
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience establishing governance and enhancing organizational effectiveness preferred
- Experience working in a global, cross-functional, matrixed environment required
- Experience within the healthcare/pharmaceutical industry preferred
- Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices, Pharmaceutical Quality & related topics preferred
- Experience building and managing operating cadence, KPIs, and governance frameworks required
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with ability to influence at all levels required
