Contract & Budget Specialist

Location:

Ciudad de México, Ciudad de México, MX

What if your attention to detail and negotiation skills could directly accelerate access to life-changing treatments for patients around the world?

Your new department

You'll be part of a unit that explores bold scientific ideas and advances them into clinical testing. We combine curiosity, AI tools, and human data to develop transformative therapies. Through collaboration and operational excellence, we shape and deliver an innovative pipeline to meet future patient needs.

Within Clinical Development – Business Operations, you'll join a dynamic team that ensures the operational backbone of our clinical trials runs smoothly. We bridge strategy and execution, managing the critical contracts, budgets, and vendor relationships that enable Trial Managers to focus on bringing new treatments to patients. Given the current growth in clinical studies, our work is fast-paced, detail-oriented, and essential to accelerating patient access.

Your new role

We are looking for a hands-on Contract & Budget Specialist to join our Clinical Development Business Operations team. This role is highly operational, requires strong ownership, and the ability to manage multiple negotiations in parallel with high attention to detail. You'll be responsible for the end-to-end creation, negotiation and execution of clinical trial budgets and contracts, working directly with clinical sites and closely with Trial Managers, Legal and Finance.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Building clinical trial budgets from scratch based on protocol requirements
  • Generating and maintaining Fair Market Value (FMV) analysis for Mexico
  • Negotiating budgets directly with clinical sites (public and private)
  • Acting as contract owner, coordinating with Legal through internal platforms and tracking contract lifecycle (approvals, signatures, renewals)
  • Uploading and managing budgets in internal systems for Global approval
  • Maintaining accurate budget and contract tracking to ensure compliance and financial consistency
  • Communicating status clearly and proactively to Trial Managers and stakeholders
  • Participating in audits/inspections related to contracts, budgets or payments

Required experience

You'll thrive in a high-paced, dynamic environment and bring strong organizational skills combined with financial acumen. We're looking for someone with:

  • 2–4 years of experience in clinical research, budgeting, finance, contracts or similar roles
  • Strong Excel skills (tables/pivots required) and comfort working with numbers, financial scenarios and cost analysis
  • High level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple negotiations in parallel
  • Strong negotiation skills – the ability to negotiate firmly but diplomatically, including saying "no" when outside FMV
  • Excellent communication skills and resilience to manage demanding stakeholders
  • Background in Finance, Administration, Clinical Research, or related fields (experience negotiating directly with sites is a nice to have)
