About the department
You will be a part of the Sustainability group, part of our Market Access & External Affairs organization, and will, as a Sustainability Manager, coordinate the implementation of the Novo Nordisk Japan’s program on Chiba city, including childhood obesity prevention, adult obesity intervention, disease awareness campaign implementation etc. The base for this position is Tokyo, Japan in our Marunouchi Japan HQ.
The position
As a Sustainability Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinate and support the implementation of Chiba city project, such as childhood obesity prevention program, intervention study planning and implementation, disease awareness campaign according to the program's global strategic guidelines.
- Coordinate the partners in charge of program implementation and impact evaluation, ensuring that the execution and activities are carried out according to the scope and approach agreed between Novo Nordisk, Chiba city and Chiba University. Also monitor the execution of activities and review deliverables provided by local and global partners.
- Engage with representatives of the municipality and other organizations involved in the program to ensure aligned implementation among different stakeholders.
- Liaise with the Novo Nordisk Global team and global partners to ensure strategic alignment and share progress reports and lessons learned. Also coordinate and support the implementation of other programs by Novo Nordisk Japan as part of the sustainability strategy.
- Prepare program reports and content for reporting and communication, both internal and external.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or above.
- At least 3 years’ experience in project lead/coordination involving multiple stakeholders and external partners.
- Experience working in international multistakeholder environment strongly preferred.
- Experience in sustainability, social development or public health projects and/or projects involving municipal governments strongly preferred.
- Experience in chronic diseases area such as obesity, diabetes and/or cardiovascular disease strongly preferred.
- Fluent Japanese with strong business English proficiency required.
