About the department
The Local Market Access (LMA) team is devoted to making a difference in the lives of patients by ensuring access to life-changing products and services. We work closely with key stakeholders in the healthcare system to develop comprehensive market access strategies and campaigns. The position
As the LMA Senior Group Manager, you'll lead the LMA Group, focusing on increasing screening and consultation rates, and raising disease awareness at prefectural and municipality levels. You'll help the Director in planning and driving Local Market Access by leveraging commercial activities and national healthcare policy changes. This role demands commercial leadership, stakeholder management, strategic engagement, and collaboration. Approach tasks with a commercial mindset, aligning with the company's objectives for future therapeutic areas and pipeline assets.
Other tasks below, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and maintain collaborations and partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure excellence in MA execution and to represent the Novo Nordisk vision, values, and commitment. Act as an ambassador for Business Ethics within Market Access and ensure full compliance with all Business Ethics and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Enhance patient access by leveraging local healthcare systems and commercial opportunities in current and future portfolios, including Metabolic dysfunction-Associated SteatoHepatitis (MASH), Alzheimer’s, and cardiovascular disease. This includes leveraging municipal healthcare policies to address healthcare issues.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with teams including Public Affairs, MSL, Commercial, and Market Access in Japan and Headquarters to maximize patient access in each therapeutic area. The role will also help to overee the implementation of future frontline customer engagement projects in Japan.
  • Engage external stakeholders such as prefecture and municipality officials, local assembly members, medical association members, and, when needed, municipality owned (Kokuho) and other payers.
  • Should plan and assess strategic activities using KPIs for LMA members, including Managers, focusing on prioritized areas to maximize outcomes aligned with business strategies.

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.  Advanced degree in medicine, pharmacology, public health, public administration, communications, health economy, political science or a relevant field is preferred.
  • Either sales experience with a strong track record in the pharmaceutical industry, public administration experience at management level, or  public communication, advocacy, policy, or public sector consulting. People management experience is required.
  • Commercial background, science, and research background with good understanding on statistics methodologies, public policy in healthcare background is highly preferred.
  • Excellent communication & social skills with ability to build and leverage on internal and external networks.
  • Excellent command of Japanese, written and verbal, with good understanding on central/local governments’ communication style. Business-level in English (Speaking, Written, Read) is required.
