The position
As a Senior Director, Real World and Integrated Evidence you will be in charge of overall accountability of the role is to enhance the value of Novo Nordisk assets in Japan and enable the understanding and development of therapeutic areas in which Novo Nordisk intends to play through the development and execution of evidence generation plans for respective assets and areas.
- Map existing evidence related to Novo Nordisk assets and therapeutic areas (TAs), including evidence in development, and ensure alignment across internal functions (CMRQ, marketing, sales, market access, public affairs, business unit leadership) on the relevance of evidence planning and execution for local business success.
- Identify unmet needs and evidence gaps for assets and TAs, relevant to stakeholder groups such as patients, healthcare professionals (HCPs), policymakers, regulators, scientific associations, and the general public, while considering the most scientifically viable and cost-efficient ways to address data gaps.
- Innovate on study designs, analyses, and data bridging options to address prioritized unmet data needs, and leverage existing data sources, including databases, patient records, and pre-existing analyses, ensuring optimal use of internal data sources.
- Conduct primary real-world data generation activities (e.g., non-interventional studies) and analyze existing datasets, while ensuring operational capacity for study setup, including epidemiological input, protocol development, Clinical Research Organization (CRO)/vendor bid defence meetings, and study management.
- Ensure optimal dissemination of real-world data analysis results, including publications, for maximum business impact, and stay abreast of big data trends, interface with technology innovators, and explore predictive and prescriptive analytics.
- Provide subject matter expertise guidance to internal and external stakeholders, enable quick access to insights based on collected evidence, and remain the key contact point for regional, International Operations - Strategic Operations (IO-SO), and global experts/groups in real-world evidence (RWE) and data science, while leading capability development across functions.
Qualifications
- M.Sc. or equivalent in natural science or epidemiology; a business degree is acceptable with relevant experience in evidence generation or data science.
- At least 5 years of experience in evidence planning, generation, or data science within the pharmaceutical industry.
- In-depth understanding of data sources, real-world data analysis methods, and study designs.
- Experience in driving strategic activities and collaborating cross-functionally with international stakeholders.
- Strong independent decision-making and leadership skills, with the ability to navigate organizational challenges.
- Excellent communication skills for working with internal and external teams.
