About the Department

As a vital member of the Executive Management Team (EMT) you will support the overall business strategy which is directly connected to customer and employee satisfaction. You will be directly reporting to our SVP. Possible career progression paths are working in the global HQ, International Operations Digital Lead or Leading the whole IT function at Novo Nordisk Japan. 



The Position

As a Senior Digital Director, you will proactively drive NNPL’s (Novo Nordisk Pharma Ltd) Digital Transformation by developing a compelling, clearly defined Digital Strategy for the company’s future and ensuring commitment at all relevant levels of management to mobilize the resources required for execution. You will align organizational structure and resources to maximize digital capabilities, particularly in the key areas of data management, business intelligence and sales/marketing technology. You will ensure that NNPL is in a strong position to learn from external trends and success stories, by building and maintaining relationships with industry bodies and vendors, serve as a cross-functional change agent by monitoring, supporting and steering innovation projects across the wider organization through the Digital Project Management Office, work closely with HR to attract and retain Digital Talent, and support the development of general digital capabilities across the wider organization, and evaluate business cases and measure ROI for Digital Initiatives.
The main tasks are as follows, but is not limited to:


•    Define clear Digital Strategy and roadmap through cross functional collaboration , and design optimal organization set up that drive digital agenda for NNPL
•    Oversee teams such as Data Management, Business Intelligence, and Digital Platform to better meet needs of customer, patient, and our employees, and guide the development of the NNPL Digital roadmap
•    Provide exceptional project management to key Digital Projects in NNPL ensuring that right project is prioritized, as well as partner with Commercial Organization as well as Legal, Medical, Quality, Finance, Communications and IT teams to ensure continued prioritization and understanding of the Digital opportunities
•    Lead and execute strong internal communications plans on the project progress and successes, and take ownership in building strong relationship with global stakeholders such as HQ and IO




•    Master’s degree in IT, science, technology, business, or equivalent 15 or more years of business experience, ideally in business management, IT management or marketing, ideally with some P&L responsibilities, and 5 or more years of progressive leadership experience in leading cross-functional teams and enterprise-wide programs, operating and influencing effectively across the organization and within complex contexts 
•    Experience in innovating business models and developing new channels, business models or business transformation, strategy and management consulting experience desirable, and preferably five or more years of experience in pharmaceutical or medical device business in Japan 
•    Embody the Novo Nordisk Way, demonstrate ability to lead, energize, constructively challenge and directly influence others in a respectful manner.
Excellent people management skills including managing people managers, has excellent project management and leadership skills, and inclusive leadership to lead people with diverse backgrounds
•    Excellent English and Japanese skills, written and verbal, with great communication & social skills, and the ability to navigate the complex organizational structures including HQ in Copenhagen and International Operations (IO) in Zurich, and has Business acumen to become strong partner for commercial organization
•    Manage ambiguity and design strategy and organization with constructive mindset, ability to build internal and external networks across industries, and knowledge and understanding of local and corporate compliance and regulatory processes.
