About the department
You will join New Product Planning and Business Innovation Division which is dedicated to preparing for long-term successes. Our department works closely with the commercial side to develop long-term therapeutic area strategies and implement them into our products in development. We drive innovation and strive to make a significant impact on the health community. 

 

The position
As the Manager, Market Analysis and Strategic Planning, you will be scoping, developing and executing market research plans for the assets the New Product Planning (NPP) function is overseeing in close collaboration with the therapy area leads and the head of the NPP Strategy and Launch Office. You need to ensure market research findings become insights that are tangible to take action on and develop ad hoc competitor analysis, both at asset level and overall commercial offerings. In addition, you will provide project management support around key strategic processes (e.g. launch planning, long-term forecasting, therapy area development strategy development and similar) and develop regular updates to senior management around key NPP and NNPL efforts, eg launch preparations, financial management and similar.

Other responsibilities include below but not limited to:

  • Develop business cases for market development efforts and potential future clinical trials. 
  • Develop analysis that outline the resource allocation within the organization across the portfolio of brands and indications with highest ROI.
  • Develop and maintain forecasts for products managed by NNP and BI team.
  • Secure long-term financial planning provide direction to the organization and clearly communicates the priorities.
  • Ad hoc project management around New Product Planning therapy deliverables as relevant. 

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree is required
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with reporting solutions (PowerBI, QlikSense, Tableau, etc.), market research methods, data extraction & preparation, and proficiency/experience in Japanese pharmaceutical data (invoice, receipt, insurance, etc.) and Excel and knowledge on basic statistics is a must.
  • Experience with planning of strategic planning processes that involve multiple stakeholders spread across several geographical locations with Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver them on time. 
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to collaborate with stakeholders and open to new ideas with ‘test, learn and improve’ learning mentality.
  • Fluent English and Japanese is required.
