The Medical Affairs department at Novo Nordisk is devoted to improving patient outcomes and providing medical guidance to the organization. We work closely with healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders, and international professional associations to ensure the highest standards of medical knowledge and communication. The position
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) enhances patient outcomes by promoting Novo Nordisk (NN) products through deep medical knowledge. They aid in Novo Nordisk Japan (NNPL) therapeutic strategies, convey up-to-date medical information to stakeholders, and address
competitive claims accurately. Leveraging scientific expertise, they build relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) and identify compelling speakers in line with Medical and Marketing Strategies.

  • Identify, list, and convey with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) in various practice settings to update their understanding of NNPL products and facilitate scientific exchange.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining relationships with KOLs and HCPs to promote knowledge of NN products and address usage-related issues.
  • Respond to inquiries from KOLs and HCPs, identifying individuals with innovative research concepts and clinical expertise in relevant therapeutic areas.
  • Gather medical insights from KOLs and HCPs to inform decision-making and update Medical and/or Marketing Strategies as needed.
  • Participate in medical and scientific meetings to stay informed about current issues and new data regarding NN and competitors' products and support medical booths by addressing physicians' scientific inquiries.

 

Qualifications

  • An advanced degree in health sciences required. Master’s degree at minimum, Preferably Doctorate degree in Medical or Pharmacy disciplines preferred. Strong scientific and clinical expertise.
  • Strong knowledge of the relevant therapeutic area preferred.
  • Strong communication/negotiation skills required. 
  • Excellent English skills for reading understanding scientific literature and listening. 
  • Knowledge and understanding of local and company compliance and regulatory processes.
