About the Department


Anchored by a Global organization, the Japan & South Korea IT Operations team consists of 10 dedicated full-time employees, both internal and externals, spread out across the 2 countries apart from the on-site service desk external agents. It is accountable for all IT operations within the region as well as working closely with other regions of Novo Nordisk including the headquarters in Denmark.


Being anchored in GITO (Global IT Operations), means that you will join a global team of functional subject matter experts in the area of ITS and will therefore be able to tap into global ITS best practices, which you will then be able to apply locally in the countries you are covering.



The Position


As our GITO Japan & S. Korea IT Operations Manager, you will be accountable for IT Operations within all the offices in the region, report with a solid line to the Service Desk and ITS People Leader based in Europe and a dotted line to the local Finance and Operations VP & head of Global onsite support.

This role determines the IT needs of the organization, aligns with the global standards and is in-charge of implementing computer systems to fulfil the Novo Nordisk’s IT requirements. 


  • IT Support (ITS), Digital Workplace (DWP), and Cloud & Corporate Infrastructure (C&CI).
  • Regional IT Operations including budgeting, people management, and being a business partner to the Japan & S. Korea line of business (LoB).
  • A role for coordinating, planning, and leading IT Operations activities within the region.
  • Ensure that IT Operations in Japan & S. Korea follow, but also challenge, the corporate standards for IT security, processes, and guidelines.





  • 7+ years of experience with IT operations and/or IT management, and 4+ years of people management in a large global company, and a M.Sc., MBA, or similar graduate degree in relevant field (Software Engineering, Economics, Computer Science, Business Administration
  • Have an inclusive style and ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels, and you welcome high levels of change and complexity and are well versed in adapting quickly to diverse cultural settings. You have solid presentation and communication skills both written and spoken in English and Japanese (Other Languages is a plus), and Good communication skills (both local and global level)
  • Have a strong moral compass and set of values, which you will not compromise on, change willingness, self-awareness, integrity, impact and enthusiasm, good presentation skills
  • Recognize, and use business terms for better communication with LoB, and ability to motivate individuals, teams, and organisations to deliver high performance
  • Large degree of flexibility, energy, drive, and ability to manage demanding workload and high stress levels
