Your new role
As an Associate Director, Business Finance, you will play a pivotal role in providing strategic financial leadership and partnering with commercial, market access, and corporate stakeholders to support sustainable growth and value creation in the Japanese pharmaceutical market. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading financial planning and analysis (FP&A), including annual budgeting, medium-term planning, and scenario analysis.
  • Developing and maintaining detailed financial models (P&L, balance sheet, and cash-flow drivers) to support strategic decision-making.
  • Acting as the primary finance business partner to Commercial, Marketing, Market Access, and Country Management teams in Japan.
  • Providing financial insight and decision support for product launches, lifecycle management, promotional planning, and channel strategy.
  • Supporting pricing strategy development and reimbursement submissions through price scenario modeling and economic analyses.
  • Leading annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and reforecasts, ensuring alignment with market realities and strategic plans.
  • Providing financial due diligence, valuation support, and integration planning for potential commercial partnerships in Japan.


Your new department
You will be part of the Finance & Operations department, reporting directly to the VP of Finance & Operations Japan. Based in Japan, this department is at the heart of Novo Nordisk's financial and operational excellence. The team is dedicated to driving value creation, ensuring transparency in organizational performance, and supporting strategic decision-making. The atmosphere is dynamic, collaborative, and focused on delivering high-quality financial insights to support our mission of improving patient outcomes.


Your skills & qualifications
We are looking for a reliable and experienced professional who meets the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or related field; MBA or professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, CMA) preferred.
  • Minimum 7–10 years of progressive finance experience, ideally within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industries; demonstrated experience in commercial finance.
  • Proven track record in FP&A, financial modelling, forecasting and budgeting.
  • Experience supporting pricing & reimbursement, HTA processes or market access preferred.
  • Experience supporting partnership strategies, or BD transactions and post-deal integration an advantage.
