Position title: Communications Manager

DepartmentCommunications Dept, Market Access and External Affairs

This position will be responsible for 

 

(1) Leads on external, internal and digital communications for obesity related products.

(2) Supports or leads other communications works flexibly to ensure that Novo Nordisk Pharma puts out high-quality, timely external, internal and digital communications.

(3) Leads collaboration with external pharmaceutical industry associations and internal divisions.

The Position

 

Communications Manager is required to lead and conduct strategic imperatives as below:

 

  1. Leads on external, internal and digital communications for obesity related products:
  1. Leads on the planning and execution of all communications activities (external, internal and digital).
  2. Is responsible for building up a strong understanding of the products and the therapeutic areas.
  3. Is responsible for building a strong internal network with colleagues working on these products (Global team and Japan team, including senior management).

 

  1. Supports or leads other communications works flexibly to ensure that Novo Nordisk Pharma puts out high-quality, timely external, internal and digital communications:
  1. Supports other communications team member’s work proactively or leads non-obesity related works as appropriate.

 

  1. Leads collaboration with external pharmaceutical industry associations and internal divisions:
  1. Represents Novo Nordisk Pharma in the pharmaceutical industry associations communications work.
  2. Represents Market Access and External Affairs division in some cross-functional activities within Novo Nordisk Pharma.

 

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required

 

Qualifications

 

Experience:

  • Experience in pharmaceutical industry is mandatory.
  • Experience of product communications (product PR and disease awareness) is mandatory.
  • Experience of external communications and media relations is mandatory.
  • Experience in writing/creating materials (e.g. press release, message to employees, presentation slides) is mandatory.
  • Experience of risk/issue management communications is preferable.
  • Experience of internal and digital communications is preferable.

 

Personal skills:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the pharmaceutical business, local and corporate compliance and regulatory processes
  • Ability to build internal and external networks
  • Strong project management skills
  • A positive, creative, flexible mindset
  • Strategic and critical thinking
  • Excellent writing and speaking skills in Japanese
  • Strong English skills, written and verbal
  • Journalistic ability: to source stories from various sources including Novo Nordisk Pharma’s employees; to interact successfully with journalists
  • Ability to use digital and social media
  • Ability to constructively challenge assumptions and directly influence others in a respectful manner
