Job Title: Multi-Channel Engagement Manager, Obesity

To support the strategic direction of Obesity business in NN Japan, the Multi-Channel Engagement Manager (hereafter, the MCE Manager) will develop and implement the strategy for MCE with key stakeholders for our future Obesity business.  During development phase, the MCE Manager will identify and prioritize MCE opportunities.  The MCE Manager will be responsible for putting in place a comprehensive plan for how NN Japan can optimize HCP engagement to educate and market our new therapies for treatment of Obesity. The MCE Manager will work closely and align with relevant stakeholders within and outside the Obesity Commercialisation department.  The MCE Manager will be responsible for driving decision making process for MCE initiatives within Obesity and for close coordination with MCE activities and initiatives within Diabetes, Haemophilia and Growth Hormone departments as well as MCE activities driven by the global. Based on the MCE direction and strategy, the MCE Manager will be responsible designing and implementing the MCE ecosystem for the Obesity business in Japan. This will require a thorough technical assessment together with Business IT to ensure the best use of the existing platform inside and outside Novo Nordisk.  During the maintenance phase the MCE Manager will be responsible for enabling the Obesity sales and medical team to be able to deliver the right message, through the right channel, to the right customer, at the right time in order  to maximise the  impact of our reach and the brand messaging of our products.

 

The Position 

 

Strategy Development and Maintenance

• Develop the MCE direction and strategy for future Obesity business considering the current and future market situation as well as NN Japan situation

• Establish cross functional process to develop the direction and strategy, summarize ideas from discussions with multiple stakeholders

• Outline MCE content and propose use of content for different channels and different customers

• Ensure consistency with brand strategy, medical strategy, market access & pricing strategy, communication and external affairs strategy for the Obesity business

• Establish and lead a biannual review process to ensure MCE strategy is up to date and effectively support the sales and marketing strategy and efforts

 

Data Collection and Analysis

• Understand MCE technical platform and relevant data sources available for NN Japan

• Identify what data needs to be collected and choose data sources to be used   in order to: 1) identify our customers’ needs and expectations; and 2) measure performance of implemented MCE activities

• Analyse the collected data, identify and understand customer insights (also identify and understand what and when our customers need and want through which channel)

 

Tactics Planning and Implementation

• Based on the results of the analysis, formulate hypothesis about the possible most impactful MCE tactics for different target segment in reference to HCP adoption ladder (and/or HCP journey, etc), and finalize PoA MCE tactics through discussion with, in particular, sales, marketing and medical

• Orchestrate ideas of MCE initiatives from different teams (e.g. Sales, Marketing, Medical, Market Access, and External Affairs)

• Design and plan impactful activities, events, and campaigns with seamless interconnectivity in multi-channels (maximizing the potential of MCE) together with the teams mentioned above

• Define relevant KPIs for MCE tactics and set up simple ways of tracking and communicating performance

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders from different functions to implement the planned MCE tactics (including training and education of colleagues in field and non-field)

• Ensure a common language and understanding of MCE is developed across the organisation

 

Performance Monitoring and Reporting

• Monitor KPIs and conversion of implemented MCE tactics, and report performance on a monthly basis to relevant internal stakeholders

• Communicate the learnings from the tactics with the Commercial Excellence teams in Diabetes and Biopharm and help generate new, innovative ideas to engage customers

 

Tactics Adjustment and Optimisation

• Analyse performance of tactics and progress of HCP in the adoption ladder (and/or HCP journey) in collaboration with both the Product Commercialisation Manager and the Commercial Planning Manager in the Obesity Commercialisation unit, and make necessary adjustment to the tactics

 

Issue Management

• Identify issues around MCE ecosystem, propose solution, implement it and settle down the issue

• Manage any potential issues that may arise from the use of MCE tactics in Japan

 

Content Creation and Maintenance

• Analyse feedback from each channel regarding product information, identify what kind of information is often sought after by our customers, formulate hypothesis, test and validate the value of information provided through MCE channels

• Arrange continuous posting and update of information in the HCP Portal and other digital platform in cooperation with each functional team so that HCP will be able to access relevant and valuable information any time

 

General

• Identify and drive new ways of working to create differentiated customer experiences

• Provide multi-channel/digital subject matter expertise in defining and driving the customer engagement strategy for a specified function

• Support the execution of HCP and patient journey-based experiences across multiple channels

• Support Medical, Marketing, Sales, Market Access teams, as well as other functions in their multichannel engagement projects

• Build and maintain relations with global and regional functions necessary to support local MCE projects and activities (ex: Content hub, etc.)

• Closely collaborate with Commercial Excellence dept in Diabetes and Biopharm regarding frontline digitalisation strategy

• Enable field readiness and drive initiatives to increase engagement and buy-in through implementing change management approaches

 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or above required
  • Advanced Digital Marketing/Business qualification (e.g. MBA) is an advantage
  • Minimum 5 years working experience in multichannel engagement and/or digital marketing in any industry (initiating, setting-up, testing, managing and evaluating (digital/multichannel) direct marketing campaigns).
  • Experience in Pharmaceutical industry is preferred
  • Demonstrated broad marketing mix strategy experience with expertise in all digital channels
  • Proven experience from product management and/or marketing role
  • Proven analytical capability and strategic leadership with ability to synthesize insights, create focus, and influence the organisation to move forward
  • Strong data analysis skills. Expertise in tools (e.g. at least but not limited to, MS Excel, QlikSense, Tableau, etc.)
  • Demonstrated self-starter with experience working in multi-national and multi-functional teams 
  • Fluency in both Japanese and English.
