Shape the medical strategy behind some of the most talked-about treatments in diabetes and obesity care today – and bring it to the clinicians, KOLs and institutions that influence patient outcomes across Romania.

 

Your new role
As Scientific Medical Advisor, you will build and drive the medical strategy for our portfolio in Romania. You will be the scientific voice connecting our brand teams, field medical colleagues and external healthcare community – ensuring that pre-launch activities, KOL engagement and medical projects translate cutting-edge science into real impact for patients.

 

Day-to-day, your responsibilities will include:

  • Building the medical strategy and leading pre-launch activities across the Diabetes & Obesity portfolio
  • Driving and organising national advisory boards, symposia and KOL engagement plans aligned with the brand event calendar
  • Providing scientific support to clinicians, nurses, pharmacists and other HCPs through training, presentations and educational activities
  • Generating local publications and real-world data initiatives, and supporting Investigator Initiated Studies
  • Partnering with Market Access to deliver medical information to Drug Formulary Committees and Expert Groups, supporting reimbursement and inclusion on local recommendation lists
  • Reviewing and approving promotional materials, and supporting brand teams, medical training for Novo Nordisk employes
  • Exchanging safety information in line with local regulations and Novo Nordisk Global safety SOPs

 

This is a combination of office and field-based role (around 30% field activity)  including some overnight stays and occasional weekend work.

As part of International Operations, you will join our largest operational unit. Within IO, you will sit in the Cardiometabolic & RareD Medical Affairs team in Romania, working closely with Marketing, Sales, Market Access, Customer Experience, Clinical and Regulatory colleagues, as well as regional and global counterparts in EUCAN and BA-EE. Together, we are establishing leadership in diabetes and obesity care and ensuring Romanian patients gain access to the next generation of Novo Nordisk treatments.

 

Your skills & qualifications
We are looking for an agile, curious and strategically minded medical professional who thrives on building external relationships and translating data into action. You will bring with you:

  • A degree as a Medical Doctor, PharmD or related field
  • At least 2 years' experience in the pharmaceutical industry, ideally within Medical Affairs
  • Proven ability to design and execute medical strategy, manage advisory boards and lead medical projects through to launch
  • Strong knowledge of the local healthcare system, with the credibility and interpersonal skills to build trusted relationships with KOLs, HCPs, scientific societies and health authorities
  • The ability to integrate scientific insight with business priorities, supporting Marketing, Sales, Public Affairs and Market Access colleagues with high-quality medical input
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in both Romanian and English

Salary:  For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from 217,460.00 to 391,420.00 RON, corresponding to the level of the position.

The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience.

Incentives and Benefits: The salary package may include short-term and/or long-term incentives as well as other employee benefits based on position level,  location, functional area and relevant market benchmarks.
