The CMC team works alongside Quality, Regulatory, Technical Operations and RNAi Early Development professionals at our Boulder, Colorado facility and works closely with our teams in Lexington, Massachusetts.  Together, we are driving change. The Position

As a Senior Finance Partner in Boulder, you will be the key financial anchor point for CMC Finance, ensuring robust planning, reliable reporting, and proactive financial insights. The role will be supporting data driven decision-making based on solid financial planning and analysis to help drive business performance together with acting as a financial advisor to senior leadership, enabling sound decisions. The role ensures financial discipline and alignment between CMC strategy, operational execution, and enterprise targets across the organisation. The Finance Partner will be accountable for participating and taking a leading role in multiple internal cross functional relationships & initiatives to ensure effective resource allocation and delivery of all functional and departmental milestones providing input to the strategy and direction for financial performance at Boulder.

 

Relationships

This position reports directly to the Associate Director of CMC Finance (based in Denmark), but the position will be located in Boulder (US), with a dotted reporting line to the Site Head in Boulder.

 

Essential Functions

  • Overall responsible for the financial management for relevant area for CMC operations at Site Boulder. This includes ownership of cost management and resource allocation during budget cycles, on-going operations/reporting and changes
  • Routinely communicates business unit’s financial and operational performance trends, historical and forecasted, using appropriate metrics. Brings recommendations and strategic implications to leaders in the area and close alignment with central CMC Finance team
  • Sets direction and leads the business unit’s planning process. Together with business unit leaders and cross-functional teams must understand and incorporate demand trends, business risks and opportunities into financial forecasts & performance
  • Supports the development of long-range planning, business development / valuation modelling, and ad hoc analysis as applicable. Continuously identify and communicate all risks and opportunities against the existing forecast and work with budget owners to manage their spend vs. plan
  • Drives close cross-functional collaboration, and alignment of priorities, within Boulder and CMC Finance and towards the broader NN organization. Must establish and maintain close connections to both CMC Finance and Boulder
  • Develops annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, including presentations for leadership review. Build and present month-end-close reporting to senior leaders – anticipate new reporting needs based on business or accounting requirements
  • Supports continuous improvement within finance to streamline processes and reporting, driving value and adding insights to the business

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university and 4+ years of experience required. Equivalent experience requirements for advanced degrees would be a Master's degree and 2+ years of experience, or a PhD and 0+ years of experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree within Finance, Business Administration or similar required and MBA/ CPA preferred
  • Significant experience (min. 4 years) in FP&A, financial management/partnering, project management, and/or management consulting preferably from pharmaceutical industry
  • Strong focus on process management, optimization, and structured workflows with high level of proactivity, energy, and ability to drive and complete processes. Must utilize time effectively and set priorities to manage multiple tasks with time sensitive deadlines
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and collaborative mindset – team player
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong understanding of accounting processes/controls and excellent problem solving and analytical skills; highly proficient in Excel based modelling
  • Ambitious mindset with a continuous improvement approach and a desire to simplify the way we operate and generate new ideas
  • High level of independence, integrity, and accountability
  • Strong ability to condense complicated data to key messages and recommendations
  • Demonstrates subject matter expertise
  • Perceived as area specialist within one or several processes across a Senior. Director/AVP/VP area

The base compensation range for this position is $101,000 to $155,400. Base compensation is determined based on a number of factors. This position is also eligible for a company bonus based on individual and company performance. Novo Nordisk offers long-term incentive compensation and or company vehicles depending on the position's level or other company factors.
