The Boulder Site is home to the specialized technical operations/CMC team for oligonucleotides and RNAi therapeutics, continuing its legacy as the hub for all manufacturing-related activities for GalXC™ and GalXC-Plus™ investigational therapeutics developed from Novo Nordisk’s acquisition of Dicerna Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in December 2021. With a new laboratory completed in 2021 to support analytical and process development, the CMC team works alongside Quality, Regulatory, Technical Operations and RNAi Early Development professionals at our Boulder, Colorado facility and works closely with our teams in Lexington, Massachusetts. The Program

At Novo Nordisk, interns will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced industry professionals and gain valuable, hands-on, full-time work experience. For ten working weeks, interns will be immersed in the environment of a global pharmaceutical company and contribute to the line of business by providing sustainable and meaningful project work. Our internship program also includes instructor led trainings, a leadership engagement series, and a guided mentorship program to offer professional and personal development.

 

Program Start: June 2nd, 2025

Program End: August 15th, 2025

 

Scope of Position

The CMC Biocatalysis Internship will be directed around the newly implemented ligation strate-gies to manufacture GalXC siRNA's. The successful candidate will participate in designing new disconnection strategies in the fragment-based approaches to synthesize our GalXC or GalXC-plus class of molecules.

 

Project responsibilities include designing, executing, and documenting scientific experiments to produce RNA fragments and to ligate them together. Specific opportunities to learn about and to utilize scientific equipment for Nucleic Acid synthesis and analysis techniques will be introduced. Techniques for developing biocatalytic assays, solid-phase oligonucleotide synthesis, UF/DF, AIEX purification, and HPLC analysis will be applied within this project.

 

All levels of students will be considered for this position but will be heavily weighted on experiences from organic and biochemical coursework. This position will be supervised by PhD level scientists.

 

Physical Requirements

Qualifications

  • Must be a current student enrolled at an accredited college or university pursuing at least a bachelor’s degree
  • An in progress undergraduate and graduate degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a related discipline preferred
  • Strong academic record with a preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Conscientious self-starter with good organizational skills, project management skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and priorities, must be able to multi-task
  • Strong interpersonal communication and ability to collaborate with teams; must effectively operate independently, across functional lines, and with internal customers
  • Demonstrated personal initiative, self-motivation, flexibility, adaptability and willingness to learn
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

The base compensation range for this position is $45,760 to $79,040 annualized. Base compen-sation is determined based on a number of factors. This position is not benefit eligible*
