The Position

This position oversees the processes, procedures, and personnel performing a variety of duties which may include incoming receipts, preparing shipments both domestic and international, scheduling with any vendors, production scheduling, capacity planning and purchasing of materials.

 

The work schedule for this role will be 6:00am - 6:30pm every Friday through Sunday and alternating Thursdays.

Essential Functions

  • Displays ownership of all responsibilities and directs staff and day-to-day activities to support the material management and warehousing organization, interacting regularly with every department in the organization
  • Hires, trains, motivates, leads, develops, and evaluates staff. Takes corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy. Ensures compliance with current federal, state, and local regulations. Consults with Human Resources Department as appropriate
  • Informs personnel of communications, decisions, policies, and all matters that affect their performance, attitudes, and results
  • Assists with writing and implementing all policies and training for the department to support the company quality system and safety policies
  • Manages all incoming receipts, including initiating the material release process and working closely with QA related to material release
  • Supports Vendor Managed Inventories (VMI)
  • Performs inventory control through a computerized system, including receipts, inventory transactions, cycle counts, including managing all finished goods inventory
  • Leads/participates in ongoing departmental communication regarding materials needs to coordinate timely internal delivery
  • Displays ownership of work order management, including puling materials, maintaining a report on work order status and work order closure
  • Manages all Preventative Maintenance for the department
  • Conducts timely scheduling of domestic and international shipments to support customer due dates
  • Actively organizes and/or participates in team meetings
  • Leads team members to improve and reinforce performance of others
  • Takes responsibility for direct reports’ performance by setting clear goals and expectations, tracking progress against the goals, ensuring constructive feedback, and addressing performance-related concerns and issues promptly
  • Works with, coaches, and supports direct reports in developing knowledge, skills, and abilities in the interest of performance improvement and employee’s career development
  • Follow all safety and environmental requirements in the performance of duties
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Physical Requirements

Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reading of written documents and use of computer monitor screen, reaching with hands and arms, talking, writing, listening. Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, carrying, grasping. Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds. Must comply with EHS responsibilities for the position. Working conditions will be Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioned controlled. Working in a lab environment will require working with skin irritants, lung irritants, electrical equipment, sharp instruments, toxic materials, and hazardous waste. Safety procedures will be followed to minimize exposure, including clean room gowning.

Qualifications

  • High School/GED, required
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferred
  • 1+ years of leadership experience, required
  • Experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting materials management equipment
  • 3 years Prior cGMP and Good Documentation Practices (GDP) experience highly preferred
  • Experience writing standard operating procedures
  • Technical Requirements
    • Ability to use Excel, Word, and other Office systems
    • Ability to attend training and apply learning on routine operation, maintenance and theory or laboratory instrumentation, SOPs, and regulatory guidelines
    • Ability to peer review data to ensure data is well organized with complete documentation
    • Ability to write and review quality documents in Trackwise (or Quality System)
    • Proficient in operation and troubleshooting of a wide variety of instrumentation and data systems
    • Ability to work with and lead other groups to develop, qualify and transfer methods accordingly
    • Ability to provide ideas, introduce new technology, and drive process improvements
