The Position

Lead strategic activities for Aseptic Production and related processes to ensure all business, regulatory & customer requirements are met in accordance with the Novo Nordisk Way.  Overall site responsibility defining and deploying Site Strategy in line with Quality Systems, Health and Safety systems as well as relevant regulations.

 

Relationships

Reports to Corporate Vice President.

 

Essential Functions

  • Define and drive strategies and tactical plans for the area of responsibility
  • Drive development of organization, leaders and employees to meet future needs
  • Own and sponsor site portfolio projects
  • Drive and implement initiatives
  • Seek external inspiration and make decisions based on internal/external benchmark
  • Data owner of data related to the Aseptic Production Department responsibilities
  • Define and execute site strategy as a member of SLT
  • Execute production in compliance with regulatory requirements and Novo Nordisk Quality Management Systems; ensuring employees are trained to perform tasks
  • Defining, elaborating and adherence to the Production agreement in line with Logistics
  • Establishing operating budgets (cap cost and payroll) and department investments
  • Ensure Health and Safety, Environmental requirements are being met
  • Develop organization and motivate teams through people management with focus on engagement
  • Encourage innovation and co create in relevant networks
  • Set direction by developing short- & long-term objectives to drive customer and stakeholder value
  • Ensure robust processes are in place to exceed all quality objectives, specifications & requirements
  • Oversee strategic control of resource planning
  • Drive long term process improvement strategies
  • Drive standardization & collaboration across Novo Nordisk Finished Production and cross-functional teams
  • Other accountabilities, as assigned

 

Physical Requirements

Ability to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction. Ability to travel up to 10% of the time. (% can change on a case-by-case basis based on the role.)

 

Development Of People

Supervisory. Ensure that reporting personnel have individual development plans (IDP), with annual goals and measurements that are consistent with the priorities of the business, and that interim reviews are held so that their work is focused on those priorities, and they understand their level of accountability for results and the measurement process. Ensure that the IDP forms include completed learning and aspiration plans and are in place for all reporting personnel to enable the achievement of goals and capability to assume increased levels of responsibility. Manage the application and communication of all Novo Nordisk policies, procedures, and Novo Nordisk Way.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or business from an accredited university required
  • Master’s degree in science, engineering, or business from an accredited university preferred
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of leadership (direct or indirect) experience required
  • Minimum of five (5) years managing other managers experience required, preferably in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of twelve (12) years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry required, preferably with experience in aseptic production processes, devices & combination products
  • In-depth knowledge of aseptic manufacturing and technical systems required
  • In-depth knowledge of process improvement tools & systems such as Lean & Six Sigma methodologies required
