The Position
The Sr. Accountant, Revenue Recognition is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely reporting of revenue in compliance with GAAP and ASC606. This role contributes to the preparation of financial statements, reporting, and internal controls. It involves close collaboration with the accounting team and other departments to provide insights and ensure that the company’s financial operations run efficiently. Additionally, this position will serve as a mentor to Accountants.

Reports to Manager.
Essential Functions
- Manage the monthly revenue close process, ensuring accurate, complete, and timely recognition of revenue in compliance with GAAP, including ASC 606
- Perform detailed analysis and reconciliation of revenue-related accounts to ensure accuracy in financial reporting
- Prepare and review journal entries, reports, and schedules related to revenue recognition
- Work with business teams to ensure proper documentation and understanding of contracts, pricing, and terms for revenue recognition purposes
- Assist in preparing and supporting audits, working with internal and external auditors to ensure revenue recognition policies are adhered to
- Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff and help ensure a smooth month-end close process
- Assist with revenue forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis
- Continuously improve processes and contribute to the development of more efficient methods for revenue accounting
- Stay up to date with changes in accounting standards and industry best practices related to revenue recognition
- Other duties as assigned

- 100% work scheduled based on-site at Bloomington, Indiana facility.
- Ability to sit at a desk
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field of study from an accredited university, required
- Two (2) years of relevant experience in accounting or finance, required
- Public accounting experience, preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software, required
- ERP system experience, preferred
- CPA or in-progress CPA, is a plus
- Adaptability and continuous learning, required
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail, required
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with various teams, required
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment, required
