The Global Procurement Function is responsible for strategic sourcing, driving cost savings, supplier relationship management, supplier risk management, business continuity and global process development across all Catalent sites.

 

The Position

The Procurement Specialist will have a dual role in supporting the local direct and indirect procurement managers in delivering key initiatives as well as creating efficiencies for the entire site. In this role this individual will efficiently support the execution of a variety of projects that support the business including cost savings, cash preservation, negotiations, and a variety of other procurement projects to support the overall business objectives that will deliver value to Catalent.

 

This position is responsible for supporting the direct and indirect Procurement Managers on a project-by-project basis at the site. Although this position is within Global Procurement, they will work closely with the Site Procurement Managers to implement cost savings, support and drive all assigned project deliverables, as required.

Essential Functions

  • Collaborate with the Site Procurement Managers and stakeholders to ensure proper alignment meeting expectations on a and monthly/yearly project coverage plan
  • Support the Site Procurement Senior Manager to ensure that the spend report analysis is updated, drive cost reduction opportunities, conduct supply risk assessments, and assess supplier performance management
  • Responsible for supplier onboarding and new vendor/supplier set up
  • Support projects in close collaboration with local teams and Global Procurement for supplier selection, negotiation, and contract implementation
  • Support supplier material escalations
  • Support contract negotiations, ensuring compliance with contracts developed locally orglobally
  • Follow local procurement processes and procedures
  • Interact and communicate with stakeholders to ensure expectations are established, agreed to, and achieved
  • Identifies and works with functional areas as appropriate

 

Physical Requirements

Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reading of written documents and use of computer monitor screen, reaching with hands and arms, talking, writing, listening. Working conditions will be heating ventilation and air condition controlled.

 

Qualifications

  • Education/Experience:
    • High School/GED, required
    • Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferred
    • 3-5 years of relevant experience
    • Quality, biologics, pharmaceutical, and technical background, preferred
    • Working knowledge of pharmaceutical industry and GMPs
    • Must be able to read and understand English-written job instructions and safety requirements
  • Technical Requirements:
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with internal and external customers
    • Able to lead difficult discussions with customers and subordinates and drive the conversation to an acceptable resolution
    • Well organized with ability to handle and direct multiple activities within site or across sites simultaneously
    • Effectively communicates Procurement vision and expectations across site
    • Functions as a strong Procurement liaison to other functional department, providing meaningful quality support and ensuring productive cross-functional communication
  • Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
    • Excellent proactive problem-solving and analytical skills
    • Well organized, detail-oriented, able to multi-task
    • Self-motivated, disciplined, focused, and able to prioritize work
    • Advanced PC skills (specifically Excel, Power Point & Word) including knowledge and hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems
    • Must be able to manage multiple projects and assign the team as required
    • Must be able to bridge relationships with a variety of individuals and between various departments, sites, functions, and levels of the organization
    • Excellent command of the English language (oral & written)
    • Highly literate to terms relating to procurement
