The Position

The Manager, Revenue Recognition is a crucial and technical role within the Accounting & Finance team, focusing on primarily revenue recognition and leadership within the group. The role is instrumental in driving change and facilitating complex contract negotiations.  The Manager collaborates extensively across the organization, engaging with the commercial teams, project management, and supply chain to ensure alignment on strategic direction.  This position plays a key role in shaping the company’s financial strategy.

Essential Functions

  • Team Management: Lead and develop direct reports and manage the workflow of additional revenue resources, fostering a high-performing team environment
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Controllership, Project Management, Comm Ops, Legal, and other business leaders to optimize processes and support strategic financial decisions
  • Month-End Close: Key contributor to the month-end close process, including preparing and reviewing all revenue streams for the Site and Accounts Receivable Reports to ensure timely and accurate reporting
  • Utilize ASC 606 revenue recognition standards to manage and report revenue accounting
  • Balance Sheet Focus: Oversee reconciliations and workflow processes for deferred revenue, unbilled revenue, contract assets, bad debt reserves, and accounts receivable reserves, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance
  • Audit Support: Act as the primary point of contact for financial auditors (external & internal), providing necessary documentation and addressing inquiries to ensure a smooth audit process
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement changes to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting operations
  • Other duties, as assigned

 

Physical Requirements

  • 100% work scheduled based on-site at Bloomington, Indiana facility.
  • Ability to sit at a desk 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field of study from an accredited university, required
  • CPA, CMA, or MBA, preferred
  • Four (4) years of relevant experience in cost accounting, required
  • Experience within a manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment, preferred
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS, inventory accounting, and cost modeling, required
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and advanced Excel skills, required
  • Adaptability and continuous learning, required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail, required
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with various teams, required
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment, required
