The Human Resources Department is responsible for the recruitment of, management of, and providing direction to the people who work in the organization through effective policies, procedures, guidelines, and support. Human Resources Management is the organizational function overseeing compensation, hiring, performance management, organization development, safety, wellness, benefits, employee motivation, communication, administration, and training.
The Culture & Employee Engagement team supports our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), the Employee Engagement team, and community events. The primary purpose is to promote a healthy work environment which enables employees to work at their best and be actively engaged in the work.
The Position
In general, the position is responsible for leading employee engagement activities both onsite and within the community. This role will partner closely with local non-profit organizations to coordinate donation and volunteer events while representing Novo Nordisk throughout the community.
Relationships
Reports to: Senior Human Resources Manager
Essential Functions
- Culture & Employee Engagement Team
- Develops relationships with local schools and organizations to position Novo Nordisk as local Employer of Choice
- Coordinates and assists with employee activities and communications
- Creates and delivers training and other presentations as appropriate
- Internship/Co-op program coordination

Promote employee engagement surveys across the site and monitor department identified initiatives

Advocate for Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) and support events

Support Social Impact initiatives including both community and volunteer grants along with employee match donations
Physical Requirements
Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reading of written documents and use of computer monitor screen, reaching with hands and arms, talking, writing, listening. Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, carrying, grasping. Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds. Comply with EHS expectations of the company. Working conditions will be Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioned controlled.
Qualifications
- Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree and 2-5 years broad and progressive experience in human resources, required
- Or in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, a minimum of 10 years of experience, required
- PHR or SPHR certification, preferred
- Exposure to pharmaceutical or related technical industries, preferred
- Technical Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of HR management concepts and labor laws with consultative, results-oriented approach
- Superior customer service orientation with strong follow-up skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships with coworkers of all levels
- Demonstrated success in collaborating with others and utilizing independent thought
- Display good judgment and ethics, professional presence and demeanor
- Demonstrated strong business acumen
- Understanding of pharmaceutical laboratory and / or production operations
- Capable of rapid learning of unfamiliar principles or techniques with minimum training
- Ability to use Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other office systems
