In vitro modeling Research Associate or Tech Scientist position in Discovery Screening Department, Discovery Biology China (DBC) unit, Novo Nordisk Research Centre China
Opportunities
• Work independently and execute in vitro/ex vivo experiments to identify and characterize various therapeutic targets and mechanisms.
• Generate and maintain ESC/iPSC cell lines and differentiate them to multiple lineages and complex co-culture and 3D organoid systems.
• Execute a range of experiments using methods of cell biology, flow cytometry, and high content imaging.
• Participate in managing target discovery engine lab operations, including preparation of reagents, stock room and instrument maintenance, ordering and restocking of reagents and supplies.
• Develop and update experimental protocols for all procedures.
• Be responsible for data collection, analysis, organization and record keeping.
• Present findings at internal meetings.
Qualifications
• Master's degree in biology, cell biology, molecular biology or related disciplines; oversea education or work is a plus.
• Experience in iPSC cell line generation and differentiation and primary culture.
• Experience in both developing monocellular and multicellular 2D and 3D cell cultures for disease modeling and target validation is desirable.
• Proficiency in data analysis and basic statistical methods.
• Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and passionate about cutting edge science.
• Ability to work productively in a collaborative, integrated and fast-paced environment.
• Broad experience and skills in cell biology (flow cytometry, high-content imaging, assay development).
• Solid proficiency in molecular biology and biochemistry techniques such as molecular cloning, PCR, RT-PCR, mammalian cell culture, immunoblot, plasmid transfection, ELISA, and immunocytochemistry/immunohistochemistry procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently or in a team-oriented environment.
• Experience with CRISPR-Cas9 and RNAi screens is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated professional maturity.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
