About the Unit

Novo Nordisk Research Centre China (NNRCC), an integrated part of Novo Nordisk Global Research in Denmark, has over 20 years of legacy as the first Pharmaceutical MNC research unit in China. Here in NNRCC, you will have access to our established world-class platforms (e.g., antibody discovery, phage display, mRNA IVT, etc.) to contribute to target discovery and drug development.  During it, you will also have opportunities to work with our global research team throughout the entire R&D process. 

 

The Position

Open rank Scientist, Biomolecular Technologies

The successful candidate will use recombinant technologies for various large molecule (protein, antibody, peptide, mRNA, etc.) design and production to support global research and early development. You’re expected to be highly motivated in exploring new disease targets as well as innovative technologies to facilitate drug discovery. The position combines hands-on bench work with scientific leadership and mentorship of research associates. You will act as a team member, coordinator, or project manager in collaboration with local and global colleagues in various pipeline and exploratory projects within Novo Nordisk.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Use recombinant technologies to design, produce and engineer various types of biomolecules (e.g., protein, antibody, mRNA, etc.)
  • Participate in global pipeline and exploratory projects as technical specialist, team member, coordinator, or project manager
  • Utilize existing platform and explore innovative technologies to facilitate early R&D
  • Collaborate with global and local colleagues to expand internal competency of automation and digitalization
  • Function as department representative in evaluating and establishing external collaborations
  • Build and maintain strong network with internal and external collaborators and stakeholders

 

Qualifications

  • PhD in molecular biology, biotechnology, or relevant disciplines; working experience in industry or academia is preferred
  • Solid expertise and extensive experience in recombinant technologies for various molecule design and production (e.g., protein, antibody, peptide, mRNA, etc.)
  • Background in chronic metabolic diseases such as CVD, CKD, NASH, diabetes, obesity would be much preferred
  • Demonstrated scientific creativity such as good track record of publication and/or proposing new hypothesis driven research projects
  • Strong ability to influence, communicate and collaborate with stakeholders across a global organization for driving the projects
  • Demonstrated expertise in scientific field and ability to apply skills to contribute to organization strategy
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presenting skills in English
