We are now hiring a Procurement Director of Region China to drive the procurement function transformation to be stronger business partners to all functions in the organisation by building and leveraging strong procurement expertise to enable better business results.
In this role you will be heading the procurement function in the region and be reporting to the CVP of Finance and Operations. You will be expected to lead the procurement functions in close collaboration with different functions in driving business growth.

 

The position

You will ensure close integration of the procurement function into business by showing value contribution to the business. You will identify opportunities for value proposition of the procurement function, organisational development opportunities, and operational efficiency opportunities.

You will have responsibility for the direction for Region China’s procurement strategy, organisational blue-print and operational effectiveness in procurement. You will refine the procurement organisational capabilities and positioning of procurement function in the organisation by understanding better the business needs and identifying where procurement can contribute proactively. You as a procurement head, will role model integrity and high level compliance mindset while ensure a strong governance of procurement compliance in the organisation. You will be representing Region China in the International Operations (IO) Procurement Leadership Team that drive the regional function through cross regional strategies, focus areas and align on global projects. You will also be part of the Region China Finance & Operations Leadership Team consisting functional areas of Finance, Supply Chain, Digital/Data/IT, Procurement, and Administrations & Facilities. As a functional head in the region, you will lead a procurement organisation around 10 people with 3 direct reports .

Key accountabilities include functional leadership and organisational development (e.g, category management, digitalisation and sustainability), identifying and driving strategic sourcing projects and optimise operational procurement, conducting sourcing activities, participating in the IO Procurement LT, communicating initiatives/requirements from HQ and IO to the region. Develop a high performing team and provide coaching and mentoring to team members to improve performance, personal growth, and career opportunities. 
 

Qualifications

For the role as Procurement Director, you hold a bachelor’s degree in procurement, finance, supply chain or other relevant areas. You have a minimum of 6-8 years of working experience within procurement, leadership experience leading regional organisations and preferably also have international experience.

For this role it is essential for you to be an ambitious and proactive self-starter. You possess strong strategic and analytic skills that ensure constant development of the Procurement organisation. Your personal integrity, credibility and drive ensure continuous management support. You are strong on cross functional leadership skills allowing you to influence through behaviour, build relationships and trust as well as obtain commitment from both internal and external stakeholders. You have the willingness and courage to influence and challenge senior management thinking on key procurement issues. You role models integrity and high level compliance mindset
