Corporate Development in Novo Nordisk contributes to innovation in one of the world's largest life sciences ecosystems by participating in events and discussions with renowned and upcoming scientists–looking for the next scientific breakthrough to bring transformative treatments to patients. Through a variety of partnership models, we accelerate ideas from the lab and clinic to advance and expand our product portfolio and to improve outcomes for the patients we serve.
Search & Evaluation (S&E) is part of Corporate Development's Global Business Development and M&A unit. S&E serves as the primary entry point for external drug and technology opportunities for Novo Nordisk globally. S&E proactively scouts the global environment with the aim identifying and evaluating external opportunities with the potential to augment Novo Nordisk’s strong internal R&D pipeline.  Working cross-functionally, S&E also supports the assessment of such external opportunities all the way to due diligence and contractual negotiation.  
China is global 2nd  largest innovation hub with rising approvals and strong R&D pipelines. This role will be part of the Asia Pacific S&E group, focusing on China scouting.


The position

•    Proactively map, search for, identify, and evaluate technological and therapeutic opportunities from China innovation ecosystem.
•    Drive in-depth review and due diligence of opportunities in collaboration with relevant internal and external teams.
•    Support the development of presentations of select opportunities to relevant stakeholders and governance boards.

•    Establish and maintain good network and relationships with relevant academic, industry, and VC community in China.
•    Participate in local partnering events and scientific conferences.
•    Physical Requirements: up to 30% travel as needed.


Qualifications

•    PhD degree in life sciences;
•    5+ years of experience in R&D,  business development, or equivalent role;
•    Solid knowledge of the drug discovery and development;

•    Background in cardiometabolic R&D will be a plus;
•    Highly skilled in networking, collaboration, and effective stakeholder management;
•    Excellent project management skills and experience;

•    Strong communication skills, in oral, written and presentation forms;

•    Proficiency in English;
•    Curious, passionate, and highly reliable.
