The position
As the Head of Public Affairs & Sustainability, you will build and lead a robust public affairs team. This position directly reports to the Director of Market Access & Public Affairs (MAPA). In this role, you will devise and implement engagement strategies for external stakeholders, including parliamentarians, policymakers, pharmaceutical industry bodies, health professionals, trade organizations, and patient groups. The main scope of accountabilities includes but is not limited to:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive public affairs, communications, and sustainability strategies that align with the company’s goals and values, while providing planned counsel on these issues. Lead and manage government relations activities, including monitoring and influencing public policy and regulatory developments. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including policymakers, industry associations, medical societies and patient advocacy groups, such as MoPH, MoF, PReMA, EABC, NCD Alliance, Diabetes Associations, Cardiology Associations etcNavigate in a policy setting environment and create platforms to engage external stakeholders. Engage relevant policy stakeholders, patient advocacy organizations, and policy champions in the Thai health environment.
  • Collaborate with Market Access and Management team members to ensure the policy strategy bolsters the access and reimbursement plans for Novo Nordisk products. Ensure advocacy strategies are included in Access/Brand plans. Work closely with patient advocacy organizations to know and address patient needs. Ensure patient voices are represented in policy discussions and company initiatives.
  • Oversee the development and execution of external communication plans, ensuring consistent messaging across all channels. Enhance the company’s brand and reputation through planned storytelling and content creation relating to Novo Nordisk’s portfolio. 
  • Drive the development and implementation of sustainability initiatives that enhance the company’s goals on environmental andsocial responsibilities
  • Coach, develop a team of mid- to senior-level managers and lead a high-performance team, fostering a collaborative culture.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Pharmacy, Public Affairs, Public Relations or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in public affairs, communications, and sustainability roles in Thailand preferably in pharmaceutical industry and with strong team management experience (people management). 
  • Strong experience in managing government relations and public policy advocacy.
  • Proficiency in Thai is required, along with good communication skills in both written and spoken English.
