Job Title: Senior Total Rewards Manager

Organization: Novo Nordisk GBS, Bangalore (General Management)

Shape how India's brightest talent is recognised and rewarded – and help define what total rewards looks like for one of the world's most purpose-driven healthcare companies. This role matters as India is one of Novo Nordisk’s most important and fast-evolving talent markets, with a unique combination of commercial growth, healthcare impact and Global Capability Centre scale. In this role, you will sit at the intersection of business strategy, employee experience and rewards governance.

Your new role

As the lead rewards partner for the India market, you will help us answer some of the most important questions employees and leaders ask: Are our rewards fair? Are they competitive? Are they transparent enough? Do they recognise the right behaviours? Do they support the kind of culture we want to build? For someone who is passionate about pay equity, perception of fairness, market competitiveness and the human impact of rewards, this is a role with real influence.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Driving compensation and benefit programmes across the India market, ensuring alignment with our Total Rewards philosophy, internal equity, market competitiveness and evolving employee expectations.
  • Advising on incentive plans, leadership compensation packages, retention strategies, job evaluation and classification, with a strong focus on fairness, consistency and governance.
  • Analysing external market data, internal pay trends and workforce insights to shape competitive salary ranges, benefits packages, salary budgets and forecasts.
  • Supporting our Sustainable Rewards agenda, including pay transparency, pay equity and rewards communication, helping leaders and employees better understand the “why” behind rewards decisions.
  • Leading India-specific rewards projects and contributing to global initiatives, including M&A due diligence and integration where relevant.
  • Partnering closely with Global Total Rewards and Mobility CoE, HRBPs, Finance and business leaders to ensure rewards solutions are commercially relevant, employee-centred and globally aligned.
  • Enhancing rewards communication for distinct audiences across the affiliate and GCC, making complex topics clear, accessible and meaningful.

This is a role for someone who enjoys both precision and purpose: someone who can work confidently with data but also understands that every rewards decision has a human story behind it.

Your new department
Within People, Organisation & Corporate Affairs, you will be part of the Global Total Rewards Centre of Excellence team that enhances employee engagement and attracts top talent to ensure Novo Nordisk remains a premier choice for exceptional individuals. Together, we foster an inclusive workplace culture that empowers individuals to thrive and supports our mission to make a positive impact on people's lives.

The India role offers genuine breadth: exposure to both a healthcare affiliate and a rapidly growing GCC, partnership with senior stakeholders, and the opportunity to shape rewards thinking in a market where talent, growth and employee expectations are evolving quickly.

Reporting to the Director – Total Rewards, Regions Asia Pacific and China, you will be part of a team of senior partners who values rigour, collaboration, curiosity, courage and practical innovation.

Your skills & qualifications
We're looking for an experienced rewards professional who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys complexity and brings both analytical depth and human insight to their work. You'll bring with you:

  • A master’s degree in human resources, Business Administration or a related field, with at least four years of progressive experience in Total Rewards and project management at an organizational level, demonstrating senior-level responsibility and the ability to operate independently and drive initiatives end-to-end.
  • Strong understanding of the India market and HR policies, alongside solid command of rewards principles, pay transparency and market practices
  • Practical AI fluency is a must – a proactive, curious approach to using generative AI tools/LLMs (e.g. Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) to sharpen analysis, communication and problem-solving, and comfort learning new tools quickly with good judgment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex compensation and benefits concepts into clear, persuasive messages for varied stakeholders
  • Strategic thinking, emotional intelligence, resilience and the ability to navigate ambiguity – paired with strong project management discipline and the agility to prioritise in a dynamic environment
  • Experience with M&A due diligence and integration, or certifications such as Global Remuneration Professional (GRP), would be an advantage but are not mandatory
