The position
As Senior Manager – Tax, you will lead the delivery of high-quality, scalable tax operations from GBS, partnering with the Global Process Owner (GPO) and Corporate Tax to drive standardization, simplification, and a strong digital agenda. You will be a visible people leader and a trusted partner to stakeholders across HQ, affiliates, and GBS.
- Ensuring reliable and efficient delivery of tax activities, monitoring KPIs on quality and timeliness, and continuously improving service levels and operational performance
- Overseeing planning, prioritisation, and coordination of team activities, while establishing a single source of truth for the tax activity footprint to support transparency, governance, and transformation decisions
- Challenging legacy ways of working and sponsoring automation, workflow improvements, and system enhancements to drive scalable solutions
- Leading, coaching, and developing team leads, SMEs, and analysts through regular feedback, performance dialogues, and clear development plans, building future-ready capabilities in tax, process excellence, digital tools, and data
- Fostering an engaging, inclusive, and high-performing team culture grounded in learning, knowledge sharing, and the Novo Nordisk Way
- Building strong, proactive partnerships with the GPO, Corporate Tax, HQ, affiliates, and GBS, acting as a change leader to move the organisation from manual, fragmented work to standardised, digital processes
- Facilitating regular operational reviews with stakeholders to monitor performance, gather feedback, and identify opportunities for improvement
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Finance or Law, with taxation experience as a must
- Minimum 8 years of experience within tax in a large multinational organisation; Big 4 experience is an advantage
- Minimum 4 years as a people manager, with a proven ability to inspire, coach, and develop diverse teams
- Strong taxation, analytical, and digital skills, combined with the ability to drive process standardisation, automation, and continuous improvement
- Experience working in an international environment; prior exposure to a COE/GBS setup would be advantageous
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to lead through change with transparency, empathy, and clarity
