The Position:

 

As a Senior Research Data Curator, you are entrusted to fulfil the following responsibilities:

  • Bio curation of early research data to harmonize legacy data with identified ontologies

Assist with the development of data capture forms, support data ingestion, curation, and integration. Maintain data lineage of the curated information. Accelerate the data ingestion process by assisting in automating data curation processes. Deliver on time in alignment with the stakeholders.

  • Contribute to the enrichment and expansion of public ontologies for NN need through curation of proprietary terms to fit the defined standards. Secure Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) within ontology enrichment, meta-data management & bio-curation.
  • Perform knowledge mining through meta-data management. Collaborate closely with data owners and data analysts to ensure data is complete, accurate and timely.
  • Responsible for an appropriate reporting of scientific results internally (Milestone reports) and externally (scientific communication).
  • Propose and participate in new viable project proposals. Internal and external representation in projects, innovation groups, business meetings and scientific conferences. Keeping scientifically updated in the field (literature, scientific conferences, and international network) and participate in technological innovation within (Bio curation, Bio-ontologies, metadata management and data integration).

 

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree within biotechnology and  Experience with automated integration of data sources using programming language such as R/Python.
  • PhD degree or equivalent experience within Bio curation, Bio-ontologies, metadata management and data integration.
  • 4-9 years of experience within Bio curation, Bio-ontologies, metadata management and data integration.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
  • Good team player and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proactive, Flexible, and constructive attitude towards change.

 

 

About the Department

The Data Integration & Ontology aims at simplifying the process of data capture in early re-search using semantic models to establish interoperability across data sets. With FAIR principles as the foundation, the department aims at simplifying the process of data capture using semantic models to establish interoperability across data sets from pre-clinical research. The long-term vision of the department is to create a digital mindset by driving the adoption of FAIR principles across the pipeline. This department plays a key role in the intersection between research scientists, application developers and data modelers. The team will act as a liaison among these groups to ensure the quality and consistency of data being generated while showcasing strong gains from analytics models using clean data.
