About the department
Procurement GBS is the offshoring unit of Global Procurement and is part of Finance GBS Bangalore. The Purchasing Operations - HQ team within Procurement GBS is responsible for indirect spend, delivering and supporting order management, invoice resolution activities, query management, tactical sourcing, P2P system support, and PO audit controls. The team operates in a dynamic and collaborative environment, ensuring high-quality deliverables and customer satisfaction.

 

The position
As a Senior Associate I at Novo Nordisk, you will:

Handle purchasing-related activities including order processing, order fulfilment, invoice resolution, and query management for indirect spend for Product Supply sites. Fulfill targets set by the Team Leader/Manager and GBS Finance Management. Ensure stock purchase orders are created from ERP prompts in a timely manner. Create non-stock purchase orders from approved purchase requisitions, maintaining business continuity. Complete all tasks in compliance with cGMP, Quality, EHSS requirements, and financial guidance.

  • Present information requested by internal and external audit groups or other functional departments.
  • Complete all assigned training activities. Ensure SOX compliance in all business processes and procedures and perform SOX testing as assigned.
  • Assist in implementing best practice Purchasing Policies and Systems. Investigate and pursue cost-saving opportunities through tendering and negotiation processes.
  • Suggest and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives within the Supply Chain. Support and facilitate cost savings initiatives from internal customers.
  • Track and record savings where applicable. Identify new or alternative sources for material as required.
  • Create and maintain procurement master data in the ERP system for both material and suppliers. Monitor supplier performance through SRM-led strategies.
  • Execute all responsibilities in accordance with company policies and budgets.

 

Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate with:

  • A master’s degree in finance (or equivalent) from a well-recognised institute.
  • A good academic track record and grades.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in procurement/purchasing operations.
  • Experience working with SAP ERP system both FI/CO and SD.
  • Strong analytical skills, good collaboration skills, and clear and precise communication skills.
  • Experience working in P2P.
  • Experience in indirect operations such as office supplies, computers, travel, maintenance, machine parts, etc.
  • Experience in direct operations such as raw materials and services for manufacturing, production, or construction.
