Your New Role

As a Senior Associate I (Procurement / S2P) you will manage purchasing activities for indirect spend, supporting Product Supply sites. You will ensure timely creation of stock and non-stock purchase orders from ERP prompts and approved requisitions, handle order fulfilment, resolve invoice queries, and maintain procurement master data in the ERP system in a compliant manner. You will support SOX compliance and present information to internal and external audits as required.

Key responsibilities

• Process purchase orders and ensure order fulfilment in line with SLAs and PO Controls to maintain business continuity.
• Manage invoice resolution and query handling for indirect spend.
• Create and maintain procurement master data (materials and suppliers) in the ERP system, updating SOPs to reflect agreed processes.
• Support SOX compliance activities and perform assigned SOX testing.
• Identify and pursue cost-saving opportunities through tendering, negotiation and supplier performance monitoring, track and record savings.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to simplify and standardise procurement processes and reduce manual interventions.
• Liaise with stakeholders (Finance Heads, PS Sites, S2P teams, suppliers and GBS Finance) through emails, MS Teams meetings and calls.
• Provide backup support to assigned activities and train new team members as required.
• Participate in projects and initiatives aimed at process optimisation and procurement best practices.

Your Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's / Master’s degree in Finance (or equivalent) from a recognised institute with a strong academic record.
• 5–7 years’ experience in procurement/purchasing operations, preferably within S2P.
• Practical experience with SAP ERP (FI/CO and SD) and strong procurement master data management skills.
• Strong analytical skills, proactive approach and ability to prioritise multiple tasks.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication and presentation skills.
• Team player with good collaboration skills and a commitment to compliance (cGMP, Quality, EHSS, financial guidance).
• Adaptive, quick learner motivated to eliminate manual interventions through optimisation and standardisation.

Your New Department

You will be joining our Finance and Procurement Global Business Services (GBS) team in Bangalore. Established in 2007, Finance and Procurement GBS supports various finance functions for Novo Nordisk globally. As part of this role, you will be part of our Corporate Procurement team, which is responsible for the global indirect spend in Novo Nordisk of app. 90 billion DKK and for defining and driving the global procurement strategy. With 180 employees based in Denmark, 300 employees in India, and globally 500 people working in procurement, we are a strategic partner to the execution of the company’s strategy.
